Can I Use a Bike Rack with 4 Bikes Weighing 183 Pounds with a Hitch Rated for 200 Pounds?

Question:
2024 Buick Envision Avenir Will the C94NR work with a Thule bike rack 35 lbs and four 37 lb bikes ? This is 183 lbs total. My concern is the 200 lb tongue weight maximum. Thanks

Hello Alan,
I definitely understand your concern. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C94NR will be a great fit for your 2024 Buick Envision Avenir. The hitch is rated to handle 200 pound tongue weight, so your the 183 pounds will be totally fine for the hitch. You will however want to check your owner manual to see what Buick says your car can handle. Just because the hitch is rated up to that amount does not mean that your vehicle is rated for that much.
Do you have any trails near by that you like to ride? We have the Katy Trail here in Missouri and when the weather is nice there are tons of bikes on it.

Thanks for the info. Many trails here in Buffalo, NY area. We have "Slow roll Buffalo " a free Monday 10 mile ride thru a different Buffalo neighborhood each week run by volunteers. Also "rails to trails" bike paths,former railroad beds converted to bike paths. Cheers
