Features to know about

Haul Your Gear with Confidence: Class III 2" Hitch with 2,000 lbs GTW

This Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver is rated for 2,000 lbs maximum gross trailer weight and 200 lbs maximum tongue weight, giving you solid towing strength for small trailers, cargo carriers, or bike racks. The 2" x 2" receiver opening works with the most common accessories, so you can easily load up your bikes, storage baskets, or light-duty trailers without hassle. It’s tested for safety in accordance with SAE J684 standards, so you can trust it to hold steady mile after mile.

Do the Job Yourself: Bolt-On Installation with Included Hardware

No need to weld or modify anything—this hitch is built for do-it-yourself installation. The fully welded design bolts directly onto the frame using the included hardware kit and clear step-by-step instructions. It’s a straightforward project for anyone comfortable with basic tools and a garage setup, letting you get your hitch installed quickly and securely without paying for shop time.

Stay Rust-Free and Looking Good: Durable Powder Coat Finish

The hitch is co-cured inside and out in a rust-resistant liquid A-coat and topped with a gloss black powder coat finish. This double-layer protection keeps it corrosion resistant even through years of road grime, rain, and salt. The round-tube design gives it a clean look under the bumper while the open-back receiver makes it easy to keep dirt cleared out.

Built Strong for Everyday Use: Robotic Welding and Precision Fit

Every weld on this receiver is done with robotic precision to ensure consistent strength and a perfect fit. That means no alignment headaches or weak joints—just a sturdy hitch that feels rock solid once mounted. Whether you’re towing a small utility trailer or carrying extra gear, it’s engineered to handle everyday hauling tasks safely and reliably.

Fit perfect. Installation video was spot on.

Don't believe the video showing how easy installation is. Believe the other comments. I had to take my 2021 Avenir to a shop to get it installed. This is not a one person job and there isn't enough room to install this without getting the exhaust pipes out of the way.

by:

The hitch we ordered arrived quickly and was perfect for our vehicle. My husband and I installed it quite easily and are very happy with it. We use it for transporting our bikes to and from trails

by:

The instructions were very helpful as were the four fishing wires provided for the installation.

by:

Each time I change vehicles and have purchased a curt trailer hitch and they have fit perfectly and are easy to install, Arther the salesperson was very knowledgeable and helpful.

by:

Came beautifully boxed. No damage whatsoever. The install had to be done by a professional & took 1.8 hours. The charge was $xxx plus tax. I purchased this hitch because I was told the bumper would not have to be removed which was true but the exhaust system had to be completely lowered to install behind the bumper. I would not suggest that anyone try this install on their own.

by:

Hitch only had one hitch. The exhaust pipe had to be dropped to install it. I had a guy at a body shop do it for $125. I didn't have the convenience of a lift. Considering the dealer wanted $800+ to install one I still made out like a bandit (or less of a fool). I'd buy it again.

I installed this hitch on my 2021 Buick Envision. Since this vehicle is a new platform for 2021, there are no videos to watch on how to install it. This would have been helpful because the exhaust hangers present a real problem. If you are installing with the vehicle on the garage floor, you will need to gain about 3" of clearance to be able to get the hitch in the right position. First, you have to position the 4 bolts and brackets into position using the supplied wires. As we tried to get the hitch up into position, it looked like there was no way unless we removed the exhaust hangers. Finally, after much trial and error, I removed 1 T-15 screw from the fascia on the driver side by the exhaust tip and then was able to get the other side of the hitch under the hanger. Then I pulled the fascia back from the side that I removed the screw and was finally able to get the hitch into place. Then I used a small pair of vise grips to hold the bolts in place while I removed the wires. Note, only put the wires on the bolts 2 or 3 turns. I installed the nuts that were towards the front of the vehicle on both sides and then snugged them down to hold the hitch in place. Then put on the nut on the passenger side. The big problem is trying to get the nut on the driver side toward the rear of the vehicle. You are going to need a long 3/8ths extension, a 1/2" extension is too big to fit. Finally, after getting all the nuts on, I used a torque wrench to tighten the nuts down. You definitely need to do a video on the 2021 Envision! This would have been so helpful. As far as the hitch goes, it is very well made and has good quality paint. The shipping and tracking on this hitch were the best I have seen and I hope this review will help! Thank You, Bruce

Very happy with the product. It was fairly easy to install. I do suggest that it is a two man job.

My hitch is working out great. Not a single problem. I would recommend it.

by:

Great price, product, and customer service! Easy installation. Two people less than thirty minutes start to finish.

by:

Much easier to install than some of the reviews suggested. I'm 71 and with the help of some ramps and my motorcycle jack found the process fairly easy. No removal of anything required.

by:

Great service and fast delivery.

by:

Fit perfectly. I appreciate the installation videos. They are great and help a ton.

by:

There was a hole in the box when it got to me. The hitch had some paint flaked from the shipping. The fitment was perfect which is why it is getting 4 stars. I put it on myself in 30 minutes laying on the ground.

by:

Great product, I am 65 years old and installed by myself using the installation video

by:

Was delivered promptly and was easier to install than I expected.
I would definitely recommend etrailer for your hitch needs

by:

The quality is what I expected from Curt; well made, fit just like it should, coating was good and has held up well. The included hardware and guide wires made the installation a snap. The install went well, with the exception that I did have to move the muffler out of the way to get the hitch into position. The instructions didn't say to do this, but it would not go into place on my 2022 Buick Envision without moving the muffler. We use it to hold a cargo rack with a box that carries our snow skiing gear. The box and carrier are probably getting close to the 200lb limit on the hitch, but I don't think we were over it. The carrier did ride pretty low on the car, and it did drag a few times pulling into the gas stations and driveways. This has nothing to do with the design or build of the hitch, it has to do with the design of the car and it is just something to be aware of. Overall a good quality product that I would recommend.

by:

With my 2022 Buick Envision on ramps, my soon and I were able to mount in well under an hour without needing to drop the exhaust. You do need to undo 4 crews holding the number trim, two on each side on the inside of the exhaust pipes. With two people you can slide it up at an angle over the pipes. Great fit. As always trailer was fast and reasonably priced.

  • Curt Hitch Pin Hole to Bumper Distance for a 2021 Buick Envision
Hey George, thanks for reaching out! When we installed the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C94ER on a 2022 Buick Envision we found from the center of the hitch pin hole to the outermost part of the bumper measured 7" (see attached). This might not be exact for your 2021 Buick Envision, but it will be very similar. What bike rack are you using?

  • Recommended Hitch and Wiring Harness for a 2021 Buick Envision

Since you are planning on towing you will also need a wiring harness item # C56325 and a ball mount kit item # C45534. I have linked a couple of installation videos below.

We have had instances of a trailer hitch interfering with sensors, such as the automatic lift gate. • Does Rear Bumper of 2022 Buick Envision Remove to Install Curt Hitch
We have had some feedback from customers who had installed the Curt hitch # C94ER on a 2022 Buick Envision and the consensus seems to be that the exhaust needs to lower for the hitch to fit past it. This would be easier than removing the rear bumper and is a pretty standard step for most hitch installs. It basically comes down to removing the hitch hangers which are rubber isolators that secure it to the vehicle and letting it hang a little lower.
