Question:
Hello, I have a 2” hitch and would like to tow a 1 1/4” Thule T2 Pro XTR. Looking at the website, it looks like I need a reducer or adapter shorter would be best, an anti rattle, and a hitch pin. Is this correct? If so, will you please recommend which models would be best? Thank you!

Hey Alex, thanks for reaching out!
I can recommend some parts to get you where you're wanting to go, but just so we're all on the same page, Thule does not recommend using an adapter with the 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV - they say you have to remove and replace the lower assembly with part # TH37MY which makes it compatible directly with a 2" receiver.
The lower assembly is almost the same price as a whole new bike rack though so you can either sell your current one and replace it with the 2" # TH83JV, or you can use the following with your current T2 Pro XTR:
- Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e58YR
- etrailer Anti-Rattle Hitch Collar # e38FV
- Locking Hitch Pin # FHG54ZR
The combination of these parts will really snug up the adapter to your hitch receiver to reduce the amount of play you see, and the locking hitch pin will add some peace of mind to your setup as well.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
