Pivoting Arms with Ratcheting Hooks

Thule T2 Pro XTR ratcheting wheel hooks

The T2 Pro XTR has ratcheting hooks that grab your bikes firmly by the front wheel, so it won't scratch or scuff the paint. To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the cradle, rotate the arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook. To unload your bike, press the gray button on the upright arm to release the ratcheting hook, and slide the hook up.

Sliding Rear Wheel Cradles

Thule T2 Pro XTR sliding wheel trays

The wheel trays have cradles with ratcheting straps to secure your rear wheel to the rack. The cradles slide along the tray to accommodate bikes with a variety of wheelbases. To secure your wheel, run the strap over the rim and back down through the strap buckle and pull tight. To remove your bike, press the quick-release button on the buckle and undo the strap.

Front-Mounted Handle for Easy Tilting and Folding

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting designThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The rack tilts down with your bikes loaded. So, whether you're at the trail or the grocery store, you don't have to remove your bikes to access your cargo area. It also folds up when not in use. This leaves a smaller footprint, so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And if you want to remove it, it doesn't take up as much space to store it.

Thule T2 Pro XTR folding and tiliting design

To make tilting and folding easier, the T2 Pro XTR's release lever is mounted on the front of the rack. This means you won't have to reach through or around your bikes with one hand to reach the lever, while supporting the rack's weight with the other, when lowering the rack. Instead, you'll be able to hold the rack with both hands the entire time.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle Device

Thule T2 Pro XTR cable locksThule T2 Pro XTR cable locks

The rack quickly installs in your hitch receiver, without the need for tools. Just slide the shank into your hitch and turn the knob until snug. Turning the knob deploys an anti-rattle wedge in the shank to help take play out of the hitch connection. It also sets the integrated SnugTite hitch pin into place, securing the rack to your receiver.

Thule T2 Pro XTR ratcheting wheel hooks

The T2 Pro XTR has built-in wheels that let you easily roll the rack so you don't have to lift it and carry it to your vehicle.

Complete Security

Thule Pro XTR loaded on vehicle

The Pro T2 Pro XTR includes One-Key System locks to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle. Integrated cable locks thread around your bikes' frames and insert into the lock that slides along the cable. The cables store inside the arms when not in use.

Thule T2 Pro XTR loaded on vehicle

The lock on the hand knob secures the rack to your vehicle. Once locked, the hand knob will spin freely so a would-be thief can't operate it. The locks are keyed alike, so you only need to use 1 key. Additional One-Key System locks (sold separately) let you make all your Thule products keyed alike.

  • Easiest Way to Convert Thule T2 Bike Rack from 1-1/4 inch Hitch Size to 2 inch Hitch Size
The 2 inch Thule hitch adapter # 853-7292 does not fit every bike rack they make unfortunately and it does not fit any version of the Thule T2 bike racks. Since you don't want to replace the shank (understandable) the best work around is the hitch reducer sleeve part # HT02.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver Fit on 2020 Toyota Prius
The trailer hitch receivers that fit a 2020 Toyota Prius are the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 24966 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C11473. Of the two, I highly recommend the Curt # C11473 because it gives you the best bumper clearance and ground clearance, which is important for accessories like bike racks or cargo carriers to keep them safely away from your Prius while avoiding scraping the ground. Keep in mind these are Class I hitches so if you plan on using a bike rack, you...

  • How to Convert Thule T2 Pro Bike Rack to Fit 2 inch Hitch
I have a solution for you. You can't convert the Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack # TH23JV to a 2 inch hitch according to Thule so you will need to use a different kind of adapter. I recommend using the Brophy Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HT02 along with the Anti-Rattle Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock # 63232 to give you the lock and anti-rattle on the adapter as well as the one integrated into the rack.

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2005 Toyota Camry
The review for the Draw Tite hitch part # 36336 which is a confirmed fit for your 2005 Toyota Camry is several years old. It was from back in 2011 when this hitch was a Class I hitch. Now that it's a Class II hitch it will allow Class II bike racks to fully insert and install. Class I hitches have a weld stop in the tube that prevents a Class II only accessory from inserting. Now that is not the case. That being said the Thule T2 Pro part # TH23JV that you referenced is a Class I compatible...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2015 Lexus IS 250 for a Bike Rack and Light Trailer
I recommend the Draw-Tite trailer hitch receiver, part # 24923, for your 2015 Lexus IS 250. It's confirmed to fit both the sedan or convertible models. The hitch is a Class I, 1-1/4 inch receiver so you need to make sure the bike rack you use fits the Class I. The bike rack I recommend is the very popular Thule T2 Pro XTR, part # TH23JV. The T2 is a platfrom rack that carries up to 2 bikes at 50 pounds each. it can be folded up out of the way when you're not using it as well as tilted...

  • Hitch Recommendation for 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander and Bike Rack Options
The Thule T2 Pro XTR for 2 inch hitches part # TH83JV or for 1-1/4 inch hitch part # TH23JV are very nice bike racks that I would recommend highly. They only touch the bikes at the tires and can tilt up when not in use. Many refer to these as best options for carrying two bikes. Basically any bike rack designed for a 2 inch hitch is going to fit the Curt hitch part # C11363 you referenced which is a fit for your 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander. I attached a link to a page that has all of the...

The Hollywood Racks Trail Rider 2-Bike Rack part # HR200Z will be a confirmed fit for the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C12241 you have on your 2016 Hyundai Tucson. The Hollywood Trail Rider is a really nice bike rack with a lot of great features for the price. The 1-1/4" to 2" hitch adapter included with the kit will allow you to transfer the rack to different vehicles with different size receiver tube openings which is nice in case you switch vehicles or upgrade/downgrade hitch...

  • Can I Use the 1-1/4 Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack in a 2 Receiver?
No, we do not. The only affordable way to use the 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack item # TH23JV in a 2" receiver is to use a reducer like the the Brophy item # HT02. This hitch reducer will not lower your vehicles tongue weight capacity but it will allow you to mount the 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro item # TH23JV in a 2" receiver. The Thule Replacement Aluminum Shank Adapter - 1-1/4" to 2" item # 853-7292 you were looking at doesn't fit the T2 Pro. It works on a few of Thule's hanging bike racks...

You will need to use the Hitch Reducer 2" to 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch Receiver # HT02 which will allow you to use your Thule T2 Pro XTR # TH23JV with a 1-1/4" shank in a 2" trailer hitch receiver. Since Thule does not make a replacement shank this is currently the only option, and one that Thule has mentioned is acceptable when we have reached out to them about this.

The Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV is not compatible with any type of adapter like the # TH8523185001 to use on a 2" receiver. Instead you would need the Replacement Lower Assembly # TH37MY to make it into the Rack # TH83JV.

Hey Blake, So there are a couple options here, but the adapter you mentioned isn't a fit and won't work with the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" Hitches # TH23JV. One option is to switch the entire stinger assembly for the T2 Pro XTR to the one for a 2" hitch, which is the Replacement Lower Assembly and 2" Stinger for Thule T2 Pro XTR 2-Bike Rack # TH37MY. • Is There an Adapter to Use a 1-1/4" Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack in a 2" Hitch
I don't have a great answer for you because of the shank style the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV uses. The # TH23JV rack uses an AutoAttach system that does not allow for some adapters to work well. You would need to go with a hitch reducer like the Trailer Hitch Receiver Adapter # e58YR, which reduces the hitch size rather than expanding the shank size on the bike rack. This will allow you to use your Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV but it will reduce the weight capacity of...

The design of the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack # TH23JV you have is only for a 1-1/4" receiver so you must use an Extender/Reducer # C45770 when installing on a vehicle with a 2" receiver. You can replace the Lower Assembly # TH37MY which will convert your current bike rack to fit the 2" receiver without an adapter. This will effectively give you the Thule # TH83JV bike rack. • How to Use 2 Inch Thule T2 Pro XT Bike Rack in 1-1/4 Inch Hitch
The best option would be to replace your existing rack with one designed for use in a 1-1/4 inch hitch such as part # TH23JV which would be a pretty expensive proposition. Barring that, you can use an adapter like # HTAD which isn't my favorite alternative, because it will lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50% which means that the weight of the rack plus that of the bikes can't weigh more than 1/2 the hitch's tongue weight capacity listed on it's ID sticker. There are trailer hitches that will allow you to use a Thule T2 Pro on your 2012 Subaru Impreza but the EcoHitch Invisi Trailer Hitch # 306-X7211 is not a good option. The reason for that is this hitch installs inside the bumper and requires you to remove the small knockout panel on the rear of your single-exhaust, 5-door Impreza. Further, this hitch only allows the use of bike racks with stingers/shanks that extend a maximum of 2-3/8" from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of...

  • Can the 2 Inch Shank On the Thule T2 Pro XTR Be Replaced with a 1-1/4 Inch Shank
I do have an option for you but the shank on your Thule T2 Pro XTR 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TH83JV is not serviceable meaning you cannot switch it out for the 1-1/4" version. There is a dedicated version of the T2 Pro XTR for 1-1/4" hitches, part # TH23JV. The only other option I have for you to use this bike rack with a 1-1/4" trailer hitch receiver is to use a hitch expander like part # HTAD. However, the adapter will reduce your hitch's weight capacity by 50 percent.

As long as your Thule T2 Pro XTR is only for use in a 2" hitch, like the # TH83JV, the Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483 will work perfectly. However, if your T2 Pro uses a 2" adapter on a 1-1/4" shank, like the # TH23JV, there will not be a swing away adapter available, unfortunately.
