How to Bypass Converter Section on a Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series System

Updated 10/27/2025 | Published 03/04/2025

Question:

How can I completely disable the charging functionality? I am adding a Victron Multiplus and will be using that for charging, but I dont want to completely rewire the DC and AC loads and still use this box for fuses/breakers.

Hey Dan, thanks for reaching out!

If you have the Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series System # PD4060K then it looks like removing the black and white wires will disconnect the converter section (see attached photo), which charges the battery.

I do recommend having a professional help you with this whole setup though, just to make sure everything is safely connected together.

Hey Dan, how did things go after you disconnected the black and white wires on your Progressive Dynamics 4000 Series system? It’d be great to hear if that fully stopped the charging while keeping your fuses and breakers active. Your update could make it easier for others setting up a Victron Multiplus the same way.
