Big loads or tall rigs can make every gust of wind feel like a fight to stay straight. The 1-5/16" solid 4140 chromoly steel bar ties the rear axle to the frame to resist side-to-side movement. That takes out the “tail wag” and keeps the ride level through crosswinds, passing traffic, and uneven pavement. With less sway, you hold your line with confidence and the truck feels planted at speed.
Long wheelbases or heavy campers can make corners feel loose. This rear anti-sway bar balances weight transfer so the body stays flatter when you turn. The result is more predictable handling in sharp curves and quick lane changes. You can steer smoothly instead of constantly correcting, for a drive that feels composed instead of top-heavy.
When your setup stays steady, you don’t have to fight the wheel all day. By minimizing lean and side-to-side motion, the bar reduces the small corrections that wear you out over hours on the road. The steering stays calm even when the wind kicks up or the road surface changes, so you stay relaxed and in control from start to finish.
This setup is built for the long haul. Polyurethane bushings stand up to oil, gasoline, and ozone without softening or cracking, so they keep their shape and support. The sway bar itself has a corrosion-resistant silver vein hammer tone powder coat, and the brackets and end links get a black powder coat to match. Everything stays solid and good-looking mile after mile.
There’s no drilling needed to bolt it up. The kit comes with heavy-gauge, zinc-plated hardware, detailed instructions, and bushing lubricant. With basic tools, you can get it mounted and ready without special equipment, then hit the road to feel how much steadier it drives.

I have a Lance 650 truck camper sitting on a ford f250. The Helwig adjustable big wig rear anti sway bar 1-5/16 diameter makes all the difference when it comes. After a year of use I can say it’s a must.
I installed it on my 2022 f250. With my truck camper on the truck I can drive down the road without the body roll and sway I had with the stock set-up. I installed the matching heavy duty front sway bar as well.
Always excellent service at trailer.com !!
DO not order this! So many reviews of it coming with the package destroyed and hardware missing. I am STILL waiting for an answer on when my hardware will arrive and no one seems to care.
I expected the truck to ride stiffer. It doesn't. It is very snappy when correcting or recovering. I enjoy the ride. The installation instructions were very good. The only issue was with the clevis mounting bracket instructions. I called Hellwig and their support staff is incredible. I installed it by myself in my driveway. It's not an easy install, but it's not extremely difficult. It took me 2 1/2 hours including the call to Hellwig.
Installed on my 2022 F250 Tremor. Removed almost all of the excessive sway while hauling my cab over. Installation instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Installed in my driveway with basic hand tools in about 1.5 hours. By myself.
Went on smooth on my 2024 F250 6.7HO. Now the ride is more stable. I installed Sumo springs in the front also. A big difference in stability now. Rides a little firmer but no sway.
It took me maybe an hour and a half to install and adjust. No more side-to-side sway when passing big rigs or encountering them from the other direction. Really makes for a comfortable, more relaxed driving experience. I would definitely add this to any truck hauling a slide in camper or hauling a heavy load.
I had a great experience with etrailer. Got my sway bar delivered proply but when it was delivered to my house the box was wide open. Luckily all parts were there. It was no fault with etrailer, just with all the ups handling.
Works fine. Broke off a bolt during installation of one of the lower brackets. The Ford factory lock nuts grip extremely tightly making installing the Hellwig bolts difficult.
The geometry could be better. Not in love with how low the bar hangs in the rear when the truck is not loaded. Maybe if I ever need to land the truck on an aircraft carrier it will come in handy.
Removal of the old sway bar was more difficult than installing this Hellwig Big Wig Assy. Thank you Ford for no access to the nut between the frame and fuel tank. Everything went together smoothly. Delivery from etrailer was on time as promised.
My only criticism of the product was that the instructions were excellent (not so with the pictures provided) right up to the attachment of the adjustable arms to the Big Wig bar. What are the effects to the ride of the truck if you go with which hole. How long or short should the adjustable arms be?
The ride of my 3/4 ton truck has changed drastically.. Rock solid ride, semi trucks no longer toss me around when they go by, no longer do I feel like the truck will roll over when I corner. I carry a 2000 pound camper in the bed of this truck.
So happy to receive this item after the first box showed up empty with UPS! This box can in open but all utensils I believe were still in box thank goodness. UPS is not five star but this company is especially Paula who handled our order. Made her aware of the UPS alert that box was empty and she had a new shipment to us within hours and it still arrived the day before the installation appointment! This is the best company and will order from then again and again when we need items. Why??? Because the customer service is OUTSTANDING! Thank you!!!!!
I purchased the Big Wig sway bar set, front and rear (1-5/16" diameter) for my 2020 F350 after considering alternatives (Timbren, RAS). I am very happy with this new setup. Together the two anti-sway bars eliminated several handling issues I worked to resolve over two years of replacing worn components. My truck has over 205,000 miles and now handles better than new. The larger front sway bar from Hellwig and new bushings eliminated bump-steer and most of the slack in my steering. I previously replaced the end-links, all of the ball joints and tie-rod ends, shocks and steering stabilizer. Each made improvement tightening the steering but did not meet my expectations for improving control. The rear sway bar keeps the truck level with a load and has helps control the vehicle and trailer in cross winds. I have two large box trailers I tow, one is a 38' travel trailer, the other a 26' car hauler. I now have much more control and confidence when towing. Ford should ship any tucks that aren't a tremor or a raptor with a rear sway bar.
One word of caution: double, and triple check your Hellwig kit for fitment. I originally ordered the wrong kit based on a lack of detail between 4x4 and 2WD models. Kudos to etrailer, as they made it right after realizing the distinction wasn't easily found. If you have the correct kit, the rear sway bar sits level.
Made a huge difference on my powerwagon with a fourwheel camper. The factory offroad suspension made it sway badly but this hellwig cured the issue. Must have, well made, etrailer rocks! I tried airbags first and they didn’t take the unsafe sway out, buy a hellwig!
No patts list, poor instructions missing parts
Good product. Etrailer support is outs tanding.
Now that I have two of these installed, I love them. What I did not love was on one unit, Hellwig had welded a bolt tab on one of the mounting brackets on the wrong side/wrong location and in both kits, the holes in the mounting plate did not align with the U-bolt that goes around the axle.
Packageing really sucks.
My truck was a little different from the instructions so I called customer support and they knew exactly what I needed to do. The fit was perfect
Thanks etrailer!

You're very welcome Michael, I'm glad we could help!
I just installed this on a Ram 3500 drw. First, go through all of the piece to both familiarize and see if all are there. A couple of important bushings were missing in mine, but Hellwig sent them to me very quickly. A parts list would have been nice. The fit on some of the pieces can be challenging, and my U-bolts were shorter than they should have been. It is what it is, designed for a truck that wasn't necessarily designed to have one, and the installation is consistent with that.
A few modifications. Had to cut/grind off break line brackets that were in the way of the brackets that attach to the axle and over the lip of the “pumpkin”. I have a Torklift Superhitch Magnum 30k mounted on the truck. The bracket that came with the kit were not used. I had to line the rod ends to the Torklift bracket and drill a hole to bolt them together. Even on the dually, it removed quite a bit of the side to side sway that you get from the tall slide in bed campers. I have an Arctic Fox which weighs around 4,000# when fully loaded.
Do you have a question about this Anti-Sway Bar?
