Hi: I want to get the replacement cable assembly for a Yakima Holdup bike rack. I want to take out the old lock and put it in the new one. Can you tell me how to do this?

Hello Lloyd,

What happed to your cable assembly? I hope Bandit McGrabbyhands wasn't trying to take off with your bike.

The Replacement Cable Lock Assembly for Yakima HoldUp Bike Carriers # Y8890284 is the correct one for you bike rack. I attached an install video on how to swap it out.

In order to take out the old lock and put in a new lock core you will need the Yakima Same Key System (SKS) Lock Cores # Y07202, this way you can change out both of your lock cores and be able to use the same key. The # Y07202 will come with 2 new lock cores, a control key to remove the old lock cores and install the new ones, and 2 new keys. We can do this another way as well, if you would like to give me your current lock core number I can match it up to your existing one and it would save you a few dollars. I included an image of the instructions as well. Let me know if you have any questions.
