Can I add a 4 pin connector with an existing 7 pin on a 08 sierra?

Yes, you can. All you would need is to install the Pollak 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket w/ Mounting Bracket # HM40975 that you referenced on your 2008 GMC Sierra and you would have both a 4-way and a 7-way. I attached an install video for you to check out also.
