Yes, the 7- and 4-Pole Trailer Connector Socket # HM40975 will fit on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500. It will connect directly to the factory wiring connector located behind your rear bumper. The included universal mounting bracket will allow you to secure it to the bottom of your bumper. You will be able to use this with the etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e98849.
