Will Weigh Safe WD Hitch WS79VR Work For Flagstaff Microlite 21DS Travel Trailer?

Question:
Own a 2024 Silverado 1500RST with max tongue weight of 900lbs, max tow 9000lbs. I tow a Flagstaff Microlite 21DS travel trailer, max weight with cargo approximately 7500lbs. I have a E2 round bar hitch and interested in the Weigh Safe True Tow. The ground clearance for my 2 hitch has a ground clearance of 18. I looked at your product with the 8500 spring bars. I believe a 4 is better versus the 6 but not sure. Again, interested in purchasing from you. Ive researched their website, and this product seems the best out there for my truck.

Hello Gerard, thanks for reaching out. For starters, the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch # WS79VR is a good choice for your Flagstaff Microlite 21DS travel trailer. It sounds like your tongue weight will be below the 850 lb limit, so that will work well for you.
You are correct the 4" drop will leave you with more ground clearance than the 6" drop. The thing is, the Weigh Safe True Tow Weight Distribution Hitch # WS79VR comes with the 6" drop shank, so if you want the 4" drop you would have to buy an additional 4" drop shank part # WS49RR. If I were you I would save my $ and just go with the 6" drop shank that comes with it.
