Should I Fabricate Support Plates When Installing a Hitch on a 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E?

Question:

The Mustang Mach-E forum discusses placing support plates in the frame rails...primarily because the frame rail metal is relatively thin see link below, which also shows a support plate that European hitch manufacturers provide. This does require removing the bumper, however do you recommend using support plates? Also, do you have support plates fabricated that can be purchased?

Thanks for the picture! We go off of the hitch manufacturer's recommendations Clay and they do not call for extra supports to be fabricated. The Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch item # DT72GR is custom fit for the 2023 Ford Mustang Mach-E as is not modified. I do not recommend installing the support plates as doing so will void the warranty protections on the item # DT72GR.
