Question:
Hello, I have a triple axle trailer with suspension issues. 3500 axles w/ what appears to be 26” leaf springs. Hangers are all 2-1/2” with spacing @ 29-1/2”~34”~29-1/2” Equalizers are 7-3/4” w/ 2-1/2” straps. More or less the current set up matches an APTT3 suspension kit with the exception of the taller front and rear hangers. The problem: the equalizers are rocked forward trailer level and when loaded the center and rear leaf springs touch the trailer hitch side. My hope is that a kit like k71-360-00 will solve my issues. My concern is the spacing on the center hangers is 34”, not 33”. I need to leave the hangers where they are, but I’m wondering if I’m on the right track for a simple fix. I have 4 springs 25-1/4”ish unloaded for the front/rear axles and a pair of 26” springs for the center axle. Thoughts?

Hi Colton; are you replacing the leaf springs as well? Is that what you mean when you say you have 4 springs 25-1/4"ish for front and rear and 26" for the rear? Replacing the equalizers isn't a bad idea while you're working on this but I don't see that being the main issue. It sounds like your leaf springs are completely worn out which is throwing everything off while allowing them to contact the trailer frame. Replacing them will likely solve your problems.
Unless you have changed the equalizers in the past we should assume the length of the equalizers is correct and should remain the same. The # K71-360-00 has significantly shorter equalizers so you're better off sticking with # A2252CB-GALV that matches your 7-3/4" measurement. You can still upgrade to heavy duty shackles and wet bolts using the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit for Triple Axle Trailers # MR86ZR (2-1/4" shackle straps) or # MR26ZR (3-1/8" shackle straps). Measure your current shackles center hole to center hole and match it to the correct kit.

Hey Colton, how did things go after replacing the worn leaf springs on your triple axle trailer? Did that help stop the springs from hitting the trailer frame when loaded? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same suspension issue.
