USA-made leaf spring provides an attachment point for your trailer's axle. Spring flexes to resist shock while ensuring a smooth ride. Includes bushings with 9/16" inner diameter.

Specs:
Leaf springs, as you probably know, make up an important part of your trailer's suspension. Their main purpose is to absorb road shock as you travel, as well as allow your axle(s) to move independently of the rest of the trailer.
To mount this leaf spring, you'll need hangers welded onto your trailer frame - which you probably already have in place - as well as shackle straps and a suspension bolt. It's a good idea to replace your existing straps and bolt while you're under there working on things because they tend to wear out quickly. One thing that could help keep them from wearing out too fast would be upgrading to galvanized or zinc-plated hardware. Doing so will boost the corrosion resistance and, therefore, the longevity of your trailer.
We also always recommend replacing both of your springs at the same time because it's not unusual for leaf springs to sag and elongate over time. If you replace just the one, there's a good chance that it won't match your existing spring on the opposite side of your trailer, and that can mess up your alignment.

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this 3-leaf double-eye spring for your 4,000-pound trailer axle. This double-eye leaf spring acts as part of your trailer suspension system by providing an attachment point for a 4,000-pound axle. It is made of a sturdy steel construction and it's designed to flex to absorb road shock and give you a smooth ride, reducing wear and tear on your trailer. And this is going to ensure a level ride on bumpy and uneven surfaces. Now, double-eye leaf springs attach to hangers that are welded onto your trailer.
On one end of the spring will attach, one end of the spring, rather, will attach directly to the hanger with the suspension bolt and the other end will attach to shackle straps that are suspended from a hanger. These straps are going to allow the spring to move and pivot so that it can better compensate for uneven pavement. If you have a tandem or a triple-axle trailer, the shackle straps will be attached to the equalizer that connects multiple springs. Now, if you do need hangers, suspension bolts or equalizers, you can find all that here at etrailer.com. In the eyes on each end are pre-installed nylon bushings and the eye diameter with the bushings is 9/16 of an inch, without the bushing, it's 11/16 of an inch.
Again, this is a three-leaf spring with a leaf thickness of a quarter of an inch, and it has a spring capacity of 2,000 pounds. So, when paired with another one on the other side, that's where you're going to get your 4,000-pound trailer axle capacity. Now, the length from center of spring eye to center of spring eye is gonna be 25 1/4 inches. The spring width is 1 3/4 inches, and additional dimensions with the diagram are available on this product page, if you're looking for other measurements of this spring. To ensure proper axle alignment and suspension performance, you probably know that leaf springs should always be replaced in pairs.
And if you do decide that this is going to be exactly what you need, that's great. We would love to hear back from you, though, after you get this installed and after it's been in use for a while, and you can share your experiences with us by either leaving a comment or a review on this product page, and with reviews you can also send us photos of this in action if you would like. Well, that's gonna wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy, thank you for joining me.
