Can I Swap Out My Tires On My EZE Tow Dolly to a Larger Size?
Updated 01/04/2025 | Published 01/01/2025 >
Question:
Hello, I just bought a used EZE Tow Dolly for an upcoming cross-country move with a classic car. One of the tires is a little off possibly a flat spot from sitting. The wheels are 10. Can I put larger wheels and tires for the highway drive? What wheels and tires to you recommend. Thanks!

Hello Eric,
I would definitely be looking for new tires as well, sounds like the tire you mentioned is on the verge of a blow out from sitting too much. You can most likely swap out the tires on your EZE Tow Dolly for a larger size, you will need to make sure that you have the clearance though. The Kenda Karrier S-Trail ST145/R12 Radial Tire w/ 12" White Spoke Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D # AM31199DX is going to have a total width of 5.7", and an outer diameter of 21.3". I would go out and compare that to the current one that you have on there, just make sure that there is nothing in the way. Another thing to considers would be the right load range, the AM31199DX is a load range D, so it can handle a maximum load of 1,220 lbs at 65 psi. I have also included a help article that goes over how tires are measured to help determine on what size you can go up to. I am sorry that I am unable to give you just a yes or no answer, with going up to bigger wheels and tires you will need to double check for clearance.
The bigger question is, what classic car will you be towing?
