Replacement Leaf Springs For A 2017 Keystone Fuzion 371 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 12/30/2024

Question:

Looking to replace the leaf springs on my 2017 fuzion 371 toy hauler. It is currently sitting loaded and it 25.75inch eye to eye and seems to be sitting lower than before. I would like it to sit higher than it currently does. Current springs are 5 leaf and were the original springs. Which spring do you recommend as a replacement and upgrade?

Hey Mike,

Was your measurement for the leaf spring length taken while the trailer was sitting on the axles or while lifted with the axles hanging? As the springs wear over time they lose their rigidity and can start to flatten out, which can cause the trailer to sit lower. You'll want to lift the trailer by the frame and let the axles hang to get a more accurate measurement of the springs.

The amount of leafs in the spring isn't as important as the capacity of the spring since there isn't a standard sizing for the leafs. Two 5 leaf springs could be completely different capacities depending on strength of the leafs. You'll want to get under the trailer and check the axles for their tag to see what the axle capacity is.

Once we know the length and capacity we can pick out the correct replacement leaf springs for your RV.

Hey Mike, were you able to lift the trailer and get a new eye-to-eye measurement for the leaf springs? Once you had the correct length and axle capacity, did you find a spring that gave your toy hauler the height you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others working on similar upgrades.

@JerredH I ordered the 24-7/8", 7 leaf springs. They fit perfectly on my 2017 fuzion 371 and raised the trailer height about 2" which is fine for me. Tows more level and much less bouncing of the trailer. I did find 2 different springs with different sag when I removed them from the trailer. I also installed brass bushings in the new springs to help with longevity. It is late in the season here, only towed it about 50 miles, next season will tell long term.

@Mike That's great to hear. Your springs were definitely at the end of their life if you gained 2" in ride height replacing them.
