Question:

2023 ram 2500 gas with 8 speed Pulling a 2024 jayco north point 377RLBH fifth wheel Purchased a sliding curt A25 hitch which I love from you guys..installed with the rail system as my truck didnt have the puck system no factory air ride. If my math is close and my google info correct, I am about 1K or so under max capacity. I notice a slight sag when pulling, never measured it but you can visually see it. It doesnt bother me but I do understand the brakes and handling work better distrubed better. I drove a flat bed for 10 yrs so the weight and handling doesnt bother me. More concerned with longevity of my truck without moving up to a 3500. Ive installed an airide 5000 kit on an f250 a few yrs ago so im familiar with it. My concern is with the mounting. Since i installed the rail system for the fifth wheel, can i still do the airide kit or do i need to go another route? Not lying, ride comfort is a goal, but last on the priorty list....really looking to get an increased front end response on braking and steering to make me feel better at being so close to max capacity Thanks for any info you can share

Hello Lee; the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57289 is compatible with an in bed hitch. This means the air bag kit can be installed on your 2023 Ram 2500 with the rails. On some trucks it can be an issue but I'm happy to say you won't have that problem. Air bags are going to be the best way to level you out and help reduce wear on your other suspension components. They're also great since you can run them at the minimum 5 psi when you aren't towing so they won't impact unloaded ride quality.

I also recommend adding an air compressor like the Air Lift WirelessONE Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL25980. This will allow you to adjust the air bags no matter where you go from the cab of your truck. It is a single path system so both air bags will adjust equally. If you would like dual path for side to side leveling you can use the # AL74000 instead.

Hey Lee, how did the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 work out with your rail system on the Ram 2500? Did you notice any improvement in front-end response or braking while towing your Jayco? Your update could make it easier for others balancing heavy fifth wheels on similar setups.
