What Is The Weight Capacity Of The Front Runner Slimsport Platform Rack # FR93QJ

Hello, I am interested in the Front Runner Slimsport Platform Rack - Fixed Mount - 58inch for my 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness, and would like to know what is the max weight it can safely hold for instance max weight for roof top tents, and does it have mounting channels for awnings. Thank you.

Hi Renata,
Roof rack manufacturers have all pretty much transitioned to not list the capacity because too many people were only looking at that and overloading their vehicle's roof and causing damage. These racks unless otherwise specified are typically going to be rated higher than the vehicle's roof capacity. If you look at the manual for the # FR93QJ they state exactly that on the last page (pictured below).
From what I can find your 2024 Subaru Crosstrek should have a 165lb dynamic load capacity and a 700lb static load capacity. Dynamic means your capacity while the vehicle is moving and static means while your vehicle is parked (i.e. at your campsite).
The crossbars of the Slimsport do have channels running the entire length that you can use to mount a variety of accessories including awnings, tents, bike racks, etc. I've attached a short video below where Aiden will give you an overview of the rack and talk about its features.
