Question:
I have a 94 Jayco 1206 popup rv. I plan on using lift kit for the torsion suspension to increase the ride height. I also want to upgrade the wheels/tires. It currently has the 20.5/8-10 tires only rated for 62mph. Question: what wheel size will fit the current 4-lug hub and allow me to 1. use tires that have practical speed ratings larger diameter and 2. use a tire size that is common stock at tire shops if I have a blowout away from home?

Hello Mike.
For lifting your 94 Jayco 1206 popup rv I recommend adding the Torflex Lift Kit - Single Axle - 2-5/8" Lift # K71-723-01. I would double check your axle weight capacity, this kit is good for a #9 Torflex axles with a 2,000-lb capacity, and is NOT compatible with top-mounted torsion axles.
I don't blame you on wanting a tire that are safe to drive over 62mph. The 20.5/8-10 is an older tire size that is equivalent to the 205/65-10. I recommend swapping out your 20.5/8-10 to the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel - 4 on 4 - Load Range B # AM3H330, the weight rating on this tire is 81 MPH so we can get you out of that slow lane. This tire goes onto a 10" wheel like you already have, so if you want you can just purchase the tires Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range B # AM1HP50 and get them installed on your current wheels. I also recommend getting one as a spare so you have it on hand for emergency situation.

Hey Mike, how did things go with the Torflex lift kit and the Kenda tires on your Jayco popup? Did the new setup give you the extra clearance and higher speed rating you were looking for? Your update could make it easier for others upgrading older campers.
