What's Advantage of Over Under Kit Over Replacing Axle
Updated 12/15/2025 | Published 11/04/2024 >
Question:
Hello, I believe the same 4”-6” clearance gain can be achieved by replacing a axle with a straight one. What would be pros and cons of replacing the axle as opposed to using the over/under conversion kit with my existing axle? Thanks!

Hey Alex, if you don't mind swapping your drop axle to a straight axle that would be a great way to gain the additional height over using an over under kit. That would be a lot more expensive than a over under kit part # K71-384-00 so keep that in mind.

Hey Alex, how did things turn out with your axle height change—did you go with the straight axle or the over/under kit? Knowing what worked best could help others deciding between those same options.
