Replacement For ST205/75R14 Trailer Tire & White Spoke Dexstar Wheel

Updated 11/07/2024 | Published 10/30/2024

Question:

Hi I just noticed that theres a crack in one of wheels on my travel trailer. Theres a tag on the wheels that reads Dexstar 17-142 4x5.5 JJ 2040. The tires are getting older, so I was wondering if you have a set of wheels and tires that would fit my bolt pattern. Its 5 lug and the tires on it are st205/75R14. Thanks

Hi Charles,

Appreciate the specifics you provided, and that wheel is a white spoke Dexstar wheel, which we do have with a ST205/75R14 tire. You can use either of the following, depending on the load range you need:

- Load Range C (1,925 lbs): Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire with 14" White Wheel # AM32153

- Load Range D (2,200 lbs): Karrier ST205/75R14 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 14" White Spoke Wheel # AM32161

Just keep in mind you want the combined load range of the tires to meet or exceed your trailer's GVWR. So for example, if you had a single axle trailer and it had a 4,000 lb GVWR you would want to use the Load Range D tires.

Thank you for your help. I ordered two of the wheels. They arrived on time and both the rims and the tires look fine. However I cant find any recommended wheel nut torque settings. I was wondering if you know the torque range. The axle does have the easy wheel grease setup, so I'm assuming it's like a Dexter. Thanks

@Charles Thanks for the purchase and the 1/2" lug nuts should be torqued to 75-85 ft. lbs.
