Recommended Leaf Spring Enhancement For A 2019 Ford F-450 Cab & Chassis

Updated 10/15/2024 | Published 10/13/2024

Question:

Hi, I have a 2019 F450 CandC truck that I use to haul my truck camper. By chance, would you carry a single leaf spring to add to the overload spring on my truck? Without the camper on it, the overload spring isnt used, but I would like to stiffen it some when I set my 5500lb camper on the truck. Thanks

Hey Tim,

We have a few options based on whether your F-450 is 2WD or 4WD:

2WD
SS # SS94VR - 1,400lb capacity
SS # SSA22 - 2,500lb capacity
SS # SSA17 - 5,000lb capacity

4WD
SS # SSA25 - 3,400lb capacity
SS # SSA26 - 6,800lb capacity

I always recommend sticking around the weight of the load without going too much over it when it comes to suspension enhancement so I'd go with the # SSA17 if you have 2WD or the # SSA25 if you have 4WD.

Hi, Thanks for writing back. My F450 is a 4x4 cab & chassis, it is a 203" wheelbase. The truck has a 16,500 gvw, I haul a Artic Fox 1150 truck camper with it. The load does not overload the gvw of the truck. The truck has a stock overload spring, I was wanting to add a single spring to it. The overload spring only is used when the camper is on the truck. When I load the camper, the back of the truck goes down about 2" with a stock suspension. The reason I want to stiffen that spring is when the camper is on, the headlights are to high for oncoming cars. The springs packages you sent bolt to the main springs, they wont fit with the factory overload spring. If etrailer has a single spring I can add, please let me know. Thanks

@TimM The options I recommended above are compatible with factory top overload springs. These would be the only leaf spring enhancement option we currently offer for your F-450.
