Wiring Kit to Bypass Factory Wiring on 2008 Silverado 3500
Published 10/10/2024 >
Question:
Hello, My 08 silverado 3500 WT has an intermittent integrated brake system issue. I randomly get the service trailer warning display. I have changed a few plug and play parts and still have issues. Do you guys have a wiring kit that would replace the factory wiring to eliminate the wire as the issue? Thank you

Hi Austin; it sounds like you want to install a new 7-way to completely bypass the factory wiring. You can use the Universal Wiring Harness w/ ModuLite and Brake Controller Harness # 22551 you were looking at to accomplish this. As the name implies, this is a universal kit so it will work with your 2008 Silverado 3500. The 4-way functions will tie into your tail lights and the other wires will run separate from the factory wiring harness.

Thank you. Does this setup then need a separate brake controller or does it utilize the built in dash controller from factory? Thanks again
