Hello Wayne. A 3,500 lb jack is going to be more than enough for your 5,000 lb trailer. The 3,500 lb rating is for the tongue weight of the trailer and not the total weight of the trailer. Your tongue weight should be more like 500-700 lbs max so you will be well within capacity for a 3,500 lb jack like the Ultra-Fab Electric A-Frame Jack # UF38-944017, which is a great choice for an A-frame jack.

Hey Wayne, how did the 3,500 lb Ultra-Fab jack work out with your enclosed trailer? Your results could help others figure out what size jack they need for a similar setup.
