Is There A Tow Hook Adapter For A Blue Ox Baseplate On A 2024 Chevy Tahoe Z71

Updated 08/30/2024 | Published 08/27/2024

Question:

I would like to use the blue ox tow bar on a 2024 Tahoe z71. I dislike that I have to give up the factory tow/recovery hooks to install the base plate. Are there any aftermarket tow/recovery hooks that can be ed into the base plate hole when you are t towing the vehicle and take out the removable blue ox arms?

Hey Dan,

To my knowledge there currently aren't any tow hook adapters to swap out the arms on the baseplate with, but whichever manufacturer does make one first will definitely have a lot of demand. In the meantime just so you have something to attach to in the event you need to pull the Tahoe out you could mount safety cables # C80176 to the frame and connect your straps to the hooks on the cables. These are 40" in length so you could mount them in a way to where they have a bit of length to pull out from the tow hook area where the baseplate is and then be tucked back up.

When installing the baseplate you'll have a safety cable to wrap around the baseplate and frame so you can add the extra cables then.
