Recommended Air Lift Springs For A 2022 Ford F-150 With Ride Height Sensors

Updated 08/19/2024 | Published 08/14/2024

Question:

The attached picture is of my drivers side - I am not certain what it is, but I dont care to move it to add air bags. Seems most people with 2022 F 150 Platinum and Power Boost are told to get Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs item AL54JQ. What can you tell me about the equipment on my spring, and why the above mentioned air bags will or will not fit without moving anything on my pickup?

Hey David,

That looks the ride height sensor, which looks at the weight being applied to the rear axle and adjusts the headlights to deal with the rear end sag pushing the headlights up. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers # AL54JQ sits off to the side of the spring stack so it wouldn't interfere with this sensor.

I know some F-150 models can have a manifold for the brake lines kind of in the way on the driver's side when trying to mount that side's spring. This is likely going to be the biggest pain throughout the installation process since it tightens up the space you have to work and you'll have to play around with the bracket to route it around the brake lines.

If you also want a compressor to monitor or adjust your psi levels while on the go I recommend the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System for Air Helper Springs # AL74000EZ. This comes with an EZ-mount bracket so that you won't have to drill into the frame. The included remote and Bluetooth capability make monitoring and activating the compressor easy peasy.

I've attached a couple of installation videos below so you can see the whole process.
