Is There Solution for Scissor Jack with Damaged Threads

Updated 01/19/2026 | Published 08/14/2024

Question:

I have scissor jacks on my trailer. One of my jacks when in the up position, only backs out of the the jack without coming down. I can manually pull down on the jack while attempting to extend the jack. It won't stay up though. Can it be fixed?

Hey Beau, it sounds like the thread or screw of your scissor jack setup is damaged and that is why your setup won't work properly. Only solution would be an all new jack though like with the part # UF48-979032 that you referenced.

Hey Beau, how did things go with the new scissor jack you were looking at? Did replacing the damaged one get your trailer working smoothly again? Your update could make it easier for others dealing with a similar issue.
