  I went to the warehouse and measured the overall length of the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jack, part # UF48-979032, in the fully collapsed position. It measured 33-1/2 inches from one end to the other end, and the measurement includes to the end of the bolt. The bolt that the crank handle attaches to protrudes about 2-1/4 inches from the end of the scissor jack. I am including a photo with the measurements listed.

  Scissor jacks are stabilizing jacks and not intended for lifting. Their rated capacity is only for stabilizing. We have kits with capacities above 8,000 lbs but the largest support capacity for a single jack is the Ultra-Fab Ultra Scissor Jack - 24" Lift - 6,500 lbs # UF48-979006 or the 30 inch lift # UF48-979032. So if you use one on each side of your trailer that gives you a 13,000 lb support capacity at that location since you wouldn't put it on one side and not the other.

  Are the threads of the main screw turning while the nut is being turned? If so and the jack isn't moving it could be that the barrel nut on the opposite end of the scissor jack has become stripped and now does not allow the jack to raise or lower. If the main screw isn't turning then the problem is that the nut of the screw has some how disconnected from the screw. Either way it sounds like it's time for a new set of scissor jacks.
