Spare Tire Mount With Height For 15 Inch Boat Trailer Tire

Updated 08/14/2024 | Published 08/11/2024

Question:

Good evening. I’ve got a magnum boat trailer that I’d like to add a spare tire mount to. My spare tire is a full size tire on a 15 in wheel. The lug pattern is roughly 4.75 5 lugs. Since the ideal location is close to the tongue of the trailer, I need something that will give the tire some height. What product do you recommend for someone hoping to eliminate the risk of the spare tire contacting the ground? Thank you.

Hey Bryan,

The best option for a spare tire mount that will ensure your tire is both high up off the ground and away from your boat is the Extra Offset Trailer Spare Tire Mount by Dutton-Lainson # DL22145.

This will do exactly the job you want it to, though one issue is that this will only fit your wheel if it has a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. You mentioned "roughly 4.75 5 lugs" so I'm not sure if that means you have a 5 on 4-3/4" bolt pattern, which is quite rare.

If you aren't quite sure, I have added a link below to a help article which outlines how to measure your wheel bolt pattern, as well as a link to a printable bolt hole template for you.
