Hi Richard,
There is an option for weight distribution for an 8 inch frame, though I will say that you'll want to check with your trailer manufacturer to see if you can use weight distribution because many aluminum frame trailers won't allow it due to the stress on the frame. But if it is allowed you can use an Equal-i-zer system, either # EQ37060ET (comes with 2" hitch ball) if your loaded tongue weight is up to 600 lbs, or # EQ37100ET (comes with 2-5/16" hitch ball) if the tongue weight is between 600 lbs and 1,000 lbs.
Neither will require any type of drilling, though to accommodate your 8 inch frame you'll also need taller link plates, the Inner Link Plate # EQ90-02-5208 and Outer Link Plate # EQ90-02-5378.
