Question:

2024 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara. The Sahara package has a 12v. cigarette-type plug in the back cargo area. With that available, will I still need to run the wiring kit to the battery or can I use the hot off of the nearby plug?

Yes, you will! We get this question all the time. Even though there's a 12 v power wire ran to the back you still need a dedicated one run directly from the battery for the Tekonsha item # 118786 or the Curt item # 56407. The power module's are pretty sensitive and need a direct source of power from your Jeep's battery. In addition to that running it to the 12v accessory plug/cigarette lighter goes against the instructions so you would void your warranty and any protections you get from it.

For your 2024 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sahara, I recommend the Curt item # 56407. Curt's wiring harnesses have proven to be more reliable over time. This custom-fit T-connector plugs into your Jeep's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. It will provide you with a 4-way connector.
