This TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver is built for real-world use. With a 3,500-lb maximum gross trailer weight and a 350-lb tongue weight (or up to 4,000 lbs GTW and 400 lbs TW when used with weight distribution), it’s ready for small campers, boats, or bike racks. The 2" x 2" opening fits the most common accessories, so you can swap between towing gear, cargo carriers, and racks without needing adapters.
The hitch uses fully welded carbon steel construction for strength and durability. It’s finished in a matte black powder coat that resists rust and corrosion while keeping a clean look under the bumper. The heavy-duty build means you can count on it to stay solid even after years of use in all kinds of weather.
You don’t need a shop or a welder to get this hitch mounted. It bolts directly onto the frame using the included hardware kit and installation instructions. The design fits neatly beneath the bumper, leaving your cargo area easy to access once it’s installed. It’s straightforward enough that many folks handle the install themselves with basic tools and a driveway setup.
Because the receiver tucks under the bumper, it stays out of sight when not in use. You keep a tidy look at the back of your vehicle without losing function for towing or carrying gear when you need it.

Hello, neighbors and friends, Steve here with etrailer.com. Let's take a quick look at our TowSmart Trailer Hitch Receiver. It's a Class 3 two inch hitch, and folks, this is a custom-fit application. It's gonna fit a lot of the Jeep Wranglers and Wrangler Unlimiteds, so make sure you're checking our Fit Guide here at etrailer.com. Top center of our homepage where it says My Vehicle Information or My Vehicle, enter things like year, make and model, and the sub-models, et cetera, whatever it asks you to be sure you're getting in the right part the first time. And that being said, this is a custom-fit application.
It is designed specifically for those Jeeps and Jeep Wranglers. Again, as a fully-welded carbon steel construction. It's gonna ensure strength and durability. It's a simple bolt-on installation, so there's no welding or drilling required. You get the complete hardware kit here, the four bolts, nuts and washers.
Again, it's a two inch by two inch receiver tube. You get your safety chain tie-down points here, already made into the product, and as you can see, it's gonna bolt right up there onto the crossmember and give you a nice, simple installation. Now, this does have a max gross trailer weight of 3,500 pound capacity. It is a max weight distribution rating of 4,000 pounds if you're using weight distribution with it, so you can use weight distribution with this. Now, the max tongue weight is 350 pounds, and max tongue weight when using weight distribution would be 400 pounds.
Now, you wouldn't need a ball mount and a hitch pin and clip. All that would be sold separately if you don't already have it. You could pick 'em up here at etrailer.com as well. So, folks, again, a nice, robust hitch made by TowSmart for those Jeep Wranglers. Again, check the Fit Guide, make sure you're getting the right one for your Jeep.

Excellent hitch and easy to install.
This item will do everything I need it to do such as light towing or cargo rack. The fit could have been slightly better. Two of the bolts were very difficult to install. Otherwise, solid product.

Received my hitch 2 days after ordering. I've installed hitches and tow bar base plates and this hitch on my 2023 jeep was the fastest and easiest install yet. Literally 20 min job. Took extra time to get up and grab a different tool a couple times. For the most part a 3/4 socket and 3/4 combination wrench will do the trick.
Some reviews noted the hitch was tight on the cross member but I didn't have that issue.
Hitch looks well made and a nice finish.
Part appeared of good quality but did not fit my 2026 Jeep Wrangler Sahara. Overall experience with etrailer is positive, easy ordering, fast shipping, easy return.
Be sure to check your under carriage because the part is 13 3/4" long but my frame is different from the images provided in the product description and the space between the tongues used to attach my bumper is only 13 1/8".
Unfortunately I had to return and order from Jeep to get the newest version of the part designed to fit new design of my model.
Well built hitch. Excellent directions. All bolts included. Installed in 20 minutes.
