Question:
I would like to know if this will or will not plug into a 2002 Ford F350 SD Crew Cab w/ factory Tow Harness? I see here that JB350 hooked it up to a 2003 F350 and I have also seen where it has plugged right up with 2004. Yet description says it will not. My factory harness has what looks to be the exact end and pin configuration that would mate-up with this adapter, and that is what I need, not no hardwired in product. So can someone tell me what gives? Will this adapter work with a Ford F350 SD that is newer than a 2001since description says it wont, or will it not? I truely need some answers because I am having major issues with getting things to work properly, and have done all that I can to fix these issues, and It all comes back to the pigtail part of this product needing to be replaced on my system due to damage to the socket or the end that plugs into factory harness.I truely would appreciate some help with this problem if any can be given.

I spoke with my contact at Tow Ready and he said that the Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, # 118243, is for use on the 1999 to 2001 model super duty trucks. This harness may plug into the factory connector, but the pin layout changed between the 2001 and 2002 model years.
I read the review by JB350 that you referenced and the harness may very well plug in, but due to the pin configuration, there could be issues with the functions. We have not performed testing nor has the manufacturer to verify that # 118243 is a fit for any other year. Again, the squared end of the harness is pinned different than the squared connection for a 2002 model, therefore, we can not make any guarantees that it will work for you.
At this time we do not have a Replacement factory 7-way harness available that is confirmed to fit a 2002 Ford F350 SD. It would be possible for you to use the Hopkins Gooseneck and Fifth Wheel Wiring Harness, # 40167, and seal the exposed end of the t-connector and just use the remaining side. If you are not comfortable doing this, you should be able to obtain a replacement 7-way harness from your local dealer.
