Features to know about

Installs Fast with Factory Tow Plug: Plug-and-Play 4-Way Connection

When you’re ready to wire up your trailer lights, this harness makes the job simple. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package – 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector plugs right into the existing factory tow package port. There’s no splicing or wire tracing needed—just connect it and you have a working 4-way flat trailer plug ready for running lights, turn signals, and brake lights.

Clean Setup Without Modifications: Uses Factory Mounting Points

This harness hooks up to the square connector provided by the factory tow package, so you can mount it neatly with accessories like a 4-Pole Flat Bracket or No-Drill Long Bracket if you want a tidy finish. It keeps everything organized and out of the way while protecting your wiring from road grime and snags.

Reliable Power for Trailer Lighting: Solid, Direct Connection

By plugging directly into the vehicle’s tow package wiring, this harness delivers a strong, uninterrupted signal to your trailer lights. You get consistent power for every trip—no loose connections or guesswork. Once installed, it’s ready whenever you are.

Easy Upgrade Path: Works with 7-Way Conversion Kits

If you decide later to add a brake controller or 12V line, this same harness can serve as the lighting input for an upgrade kit like a 7-way adapter. That means you can start with the basics now and expand your setup later without having to redo your wiring.

The product was just what I needed, but was advertised as a T- Connector when it was just a pig tail. But I knew that was what I needed when I ordered it. So it worked out fine for me but could be misleading to some people.

    • Wiring Harness for 2003 Ford F-350 Super Duty with Plug at Spare Tire Location
The plug you have by your spare tire is the correct wiring harness for you to add a 4-way like # C55265. Your truck shouldn't require any any extra fuses or relays. For a 7-way you should be able to use the Hopkins Endurance 5th Wheel/Gooseneck 90-Degree Wiring Harness with 7-Pole Plug # 40167 which would also allow you to add that before mentioned 4-way as well. The Ford Replacement OEM Tow Package Wiring Harness, 7-Way # 118242 you asked from was only for light duty trucks but it does...

    • Adding a 4- and 7-Way Trailer Connector on a 2004 Ford F-350
In order to install a 4- and 7-Way on your 2004 Ford F-350 you will first need to install # C55265. This will plug right into the port in the picture you sent. It does look like there are some loose wires there that you will need to hardwire to a 7-Way. For a 4/7-Way I recommend # 37185. the 4-Way will plug into it and then you will need to hardwire the remaining wires. White is ground and should attach to the truck frame. Blue is output to electric brakes. Black is 12 volt power. Purple...

    • Recommended 7-Pole Wiring Harness for 2004 Ford F-350 with Factory Tow Package
I do have a wiring solution for you, but the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C55243 you referenced is not compatible with your truck. It is designed for certain models of 1999-2001 Ford Super Duty trucks. For your 2004 Ford F-350, you can use the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # C55774, as long as your vehicle is equipped with a factory 7-way connector. If your F-350 is equipped with a factory 4-flat instead, you can use Curt T-Connector # C55265...

    • Wiring Harness with Square Connector for 2004 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Thank you for the photo of your Ford F-250's trailer wiring that has a square OEM connector o one end and both 4-pole and U.S. Car (round) connectors on the other end. We do not have this exact part (it may be OEM) but we do have wiring items with that square connector, such as 7-way # 40167 and 4-poles # C55265. These could be piggy-backed together to give you both connectors active at once. If you prefer you could use # 40167 and splice in a 4-pole like # C58044.

    • 2007 Ford Edge Correct Trailer Wiring Harness
The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56329 tees in behind the tail lights on your 2007 Ford Edge and then pulls power directly from your vehicle battery (via the included lead) so you don't overdraw the circuits on your vehicle when you have a trailer hooked up. The Curt T-Connector # C55265 you referenced is only confirmed to fit a 2002 - 2004 Ford F-250/F-350 with a factory 4-Flat connector. It has never been confirmed to fit a Ford Edge so if you decided to still go with this...

    • Trailer Wiring Harness For 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty With Square Connection Points
What you are explaining is very common. It sounds like your 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty pickup truck is equipped with a factory 4-way connection that can be replaced with Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package part # C55265 with square connection points. If you need to upgrade your 4-way to a 7-way plug the kit part # ETBC7 is needed because there is not a plug and play 7-way option with a square connector. The kit comes with all of the compenents needed to install...

    • Recommended Wiring Harness for 7-Way on 2004 Ford F-250
I reached out to Curt and they said they do not have anything like that to fit anything past 2001 due to wire patents. So to get your 7-way, you will need to first get your 4-way connector. If you have the factory 4 way option, then you can use # C55265. If you don't have the factory wiring harness you will need # C56032. Once you have the 4-way flat, you can then use # ETBC7 to get the wiring connections, and circuit breakers for 7-way connection. If you want to add a brake controller...

    • Cleaning OEM Tow Package Port for Curt 4-Way T-Connector on 2002 Ford F-250
Based on what you have sent, it is highly unlikely this connector will still work. For your OEM tow package port the best thing I could suggest would be trying to use some electrical contact cleaner. You may want to start by using a small diameter brush or toothpick and attempt to scrape away the heavy dirt and debris or try wiping it with a dry cloth. After this is done, try using the cleaner and the brush. You could use a circuit tester like the # PTW2993 Hook Probe Circuit Tester to...

    • What Replacement 4-Way Fits My 2002 Ford F-250 with Factory Tow Package?
Yes! If you need a new 4-way plug for your 2002 Ford F-250 with a factory tow package, we definitely have a plug that works for you. The correct harness you need is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector # C55265. This is the same plug-and-play style connector as the # C55243. In order to make the mounting process easier with the Mounting Bracket 4-Pole Flat # 18144 and the No-Drill Long Bracket # 18136.

    • Troubleshooting Trailer Light Functions After Trailer Connection Pulled Apart
It sounds like you have the factory wiring harness, but the # 118243 is not a fit for your vehicle. It is only a fit for 1999 to 2001 models. You would need either the Hopkins Plug-In Simple Wiring Harness # HM40165 or Curt # C55265. If you test your factory wiring connection with a circuit tester like # PTW2993 prior to connecting a harness, you will be able to determine if the issue is the harness or prior to the harness. If you are only having connection issues on the trailer side,...
