Hey David,

For your 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500 I have the following recommendations:

Baseplate: etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit # e98958

Tow Bar: etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e94ZR. This tow bar comes with safety cables bracketed to the arms and has a built in rise/drop to help keep the tow bar level between the motorhome and Silverado.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit # RM-15267. This lighting kit will transfer your motorhome's light signals to the tail lights of your Silverado.

Braking System: If your motorhome has hydraulic brakes then you'll want the Demco Stay-IN-Play Duo # SM99251. This system has an indicator light that will need to tap into the brake light switch in your Silverado. Since this wire isn't useable in your Silverado you'll need to install the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751463 if you have adjustable pedals or # RM-751488 if you have non-adjustable pedals. This would connect to the red wire from the indicator light.

If your motorhome has air brakes then you'll want the Demco Air Force One # SM99243 instead. This system won't need to tap into the brake light switch wire.

Since you'll need to disconnect the battery while flat towing I recommend also installing the Roadmaster Battery Disconnect # RM-766 to make this process as easy as pressing a button.
