Do You Remove Cap Assembly of Kodiak XL ProLube Kit
Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/07/2024 >
Question:
How is the cap assembly removed to physically inspect the bearings? Since you no longer have just a dust cap, but something DRIVEN into the hub, it seems one will need additional tools snd guidance for its removal. That info should be known before installation.

Hello Craig,
The assembly portion the cap screws into of the Kodiak XL ProLube Kit # XLPROLUBE2440KIT is not meant to be removed once it's driven in, as it essentially becomes part of the hub assembly. The cap does come off as it threads in, and that's what you'll remove to take off the hub and check the bearings.
