Question:
I have a 1990 Calkins 1719-2450 that I bought new in 1990. I recently had a tire blow out and it appears the other side is compromised. Looking more closely at the situation I notice tire rub marks on the inside of the fender wells. The tires on it were ST215-75r14. Tires have been replaced over the years. What size tire should I be running. The traier title shows a GVRW of 2993lbs. Thanks Dana

Hey Dana, it would be in your best interest to go with a slightly narrower tire size than what you have with the 205/75-14 like the part # AM10235. This will do a great job on your trailer and also would prevent the rubbing. I would assume this is the size your trailer had on it prior.

Hey Dana, how did the 205/75-14 tires work out on your Calkins trailer? It’d be great to hear if switching to the narrower size stopped the rubbing inside the fender wells. Your update could make it easier for others with the same trailer setup.
