Spare Wheel And Tire For a Boat Trailer With Solid White Wheel and 5.3-12" Tire

Updated 06/10/2024 | Published 06/03/2024

Question:

Looking for a spare tire and rim for my boat. It’s a solid white rim, which I’m fine with different pattern, but I can’t find the tires that match exactly to the ones on there now. They are 5.3-12 but have k-353 w-12-106. Do you know what the speed rating is in the ones I have? Thanks, Joe

Well Joe, your tires are likely not speed rated but I am a little confused by the numbers you gave me. Tires without a speed rating are typically only good for 55mph. I know the K-353 is likely the Kenda 353 series tire but the w-12-106 are confusing as there is no way w is the speed rating as that would be 168mph and the 106(2,094lbs) while being a weight rating would be more than I see Kenda rates this size tire. You might check the trailer frame to verify what size and weight capacity tires it calls for.

For the 5.3-12 size and wanting a spare we have the Kenda Loadstar 5.30-12 Bias Trailer Tire with 12" White Wheel # AM30820 I see you found. This is a load range C tire with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. Here are some different combinations below with different bolt patterns and weight ratings.

5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range B # AM30750
5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range C # AM30820
5 on 4-1/2 - Load Range D # AM30859

4 on 4 - Load Range B # AM30700
4 on 4 - Load Range C # AM30780
