Help With Noise Coming From Air Lift 1000 Air Bags After Installation
Updated 06/01/2024 | Published 05/28/2024 >
Question:
I installed the Air Lift 1000 Part No. 60842 AL64VJ on my 2023 RAV4, the springs make too much noise when driving, it is very uncomfortable. I already lubricated the walls of the bag with wd40 but the noise did not disappear, what can I do?

I have heard of some similar experiences with some noise coming from the Air Lift Springs # AL64VJ. The first thing to do is to try and verify where the noise is coming from as sometimes it may be from something other than the springs themselves. I personally would not recommend using wd-40 as that may allow the air spring to slide around inside the coil spring. It can be normal to hear some creaking type noises from the bags in the beginning as the bags become broken in. This will go away after time and you can generally help the process by driving around with the bags having a higher but safe psi in them and allowing them to work themselves into the springs.
If you have a noise different than creaking or metal on metal sounding you will want to have the installation checked to determine if something was installed incorrectly or damaged during the install.
