Determining Bearings For 2021 Rice Car Trailer

Need bearings and seals for a 2021 Rice car trailer. Have them out and have some numbers to cross reference for Japanese. Dont want Chinese again.

Hello Jeffrey,

While I'm sure we have a bearing kit for your car trailer, we don't have any way of knowing off-hand or cross-referencing what bearings you need. You mentioned you have them out, so you should be able to see the part number stamped directly on them, and you can use that as a guide for what to get.

For example, if you have bearings L68149 and L44649 you would use the 3,500 lb Timken Bearing Kit # TMK52VR

Hi Kyle, Bearing numbers are 25580 & 15123. There are a couple numbers on the seals 2020 41 & GS-225ODL. I have already found some Timken 25580 that appear to be American made, but has an extended shipping date so unclear what they will come in as. Would prefer American made or Japanese-Nachi has been good for my ww and mw machinery, not sure if they make replacements for above. Could use dust covers without the rubber plugs to access the grease zerk. OD on the cover is 2.440". These are Lippert drums.

@Jeffrey Thanks for that info, really appreciate it, and we do have a Timken kit for you with the proper bearings and seals: - Timken Bearing Kit # TMK42VR This has the 25580 and 15123 bearings, their races, as well as the seal you need. This says seal 412920, but that's the exact same dimensions as GS-2250DL, just a different number. You also mentioned a grease cap without a rubber plug, and the right one for your hub is # F001520.

@KyleS Kyle, Was about to order the bearing kit and caps you recommended but it says the bearings are for 3,500 lb, my trailer is 10,000 lbs ( 9,990) I think the literature says. Also the nut retainer/lock has the cotter pin going through the center of the spindle where mine are offset because of the grease zerk and grease channel being in the center. Please advise.

@Jeffrey So the # TMK42VR does have the same bearing numbers you mentioned, and those bearing numbers are typical for 5,200 lb axles and not 3,500 lbs. As for the cotter pin being offset, that is common for EZ Lube axles/spindles with the grease zerk.

Hi Tony; the #BK2-100 and #TMK52VR come with the same size bearings and grease seal. The main difference is the Timken name. This is usually associated with a higher quality bearings that are made in the USA which also accounts for the higher cost.
