Question:
Why is this Stealth hitch not verified for the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek? There is no difference, not even a facelift, from 2021 to 2022. Can you help explain? i want the Stealth Hitch because it installs just like the OEM hitch, and so the rear crumple zone is preserved unlike the others that just bolt under the frame. Thanks!

Hello Jim. The Stealth Hitch # 391SUCT18 is not verified for the 2022 Subaru Crosstrek because the manufacturer specifies it will only for the 2018-2021 Crosstrek models. Unfortunately, Stealth Hitch does not make a hitch for the 2022 - present Subaru Crosstrek.
We actually had a few reps from Stealth Hitch here a couple weeks ago and I brought this up. We get a lot of Subaru owners asking us about stealth hitches and I was curious why they stopped making hitches for a lot of Subaru models like the Crosstrek. Basically, what I was told is they want to focus more on luxury vehicles (Audi, BMW, Land Rover, Tesla ect...). The price point of most Subaru models is not high enough to where owners will want to drop 600 to 1,000 dollars on a hitch. I am not sure I completely agreed with that reasoning, but it is what it is.
All of that said, we do have a hitch for the 2020 Crosstrek. For that I recommend the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98912. This hitch has what we call a concealed crosstube, meaning the tube will be concealed behind the bumper. Only the 2" receiver will be visible, so it does have a good clean look. Clearly it is not a stealth hitch but since they do not make anything for the 2022, this will be the "stealthiest" option available. This will also be much easier to install than a stealth because it does not require removal of the bumper.
I have linked an install video for you below if you are interested.
