I have a 2009 Smart Fortwo I want to flat tow behind my RV. I can use either pintle or ball hitch, it doesnt matter to me. It is an extremely light car, of course. I am looking for a suggestion on a base plate and tow bar. Doesnt need to be fancy. I am looking at this base plate: Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms but I am open to suggestions. And I need a tow bar as well. Please let me know what you suggest.

I would be happy to make some suggestions for you! To flat tow your 2009 Smart Fortwo you will need the following parts:
Tow Bar and Safety Chains - etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar item # e44ZR
Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster EZ Base Plate Kit item # 52285-1
Wiring Harness - Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit item # RM-15267
Battery Disconnect Switch - Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect item # RM-766
Blue Ox Patriot Portable Flat Tow Brake System item # BLU37TR
High Low Adapter - The tow bar needs to be within 3" of level. If you measure the height of the inside top of the hitch receiver tube on your RV, and the height difference is more than 3 inches above/below the base plate tab height, you'll need a high/low adapter.
