Will Air Lift Air Bags For 2021 Toyota Tacoma Withstand Off-Roading

Hello, I am looking at the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 for my 21 Toyota Tacoma. I have 2 questions about the product. 1 When traveling off road and the suspension is at full drupe, will this tear the bags? If so is there a way or other product to ensure this wont happen? 2 when using bags along with a Weight Distribution Hitch, what is the proper sequence for set up? Would you level the truck with the bags before hooking up the Distribution bars or would that be done after complete hitch hookup? Thanks, ALEC

Hey Alex, those are both really good questions. Let's start with the off-roading at full drop for the Air Lift bags on your 2021 Toyota Tacoma, which are the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs # AL49DQ.

When you are off-roading the # AL49DQ will not tear, no. In fact, you can even put your Tacoma on a lift or hoist, for example, and the air bags won't be damaged as they are designed to withstand that type of movement.

As for the weight distribution hitch, what you want to do is first set up the air bags to the psi you'll be set at when towing, and then set up the weight distribution.

To make this - and the overall monitoring/maintaining - of the air bags easier I do highly recommend considering a compressor. The easiest to use is a wireless compressor, the Air Lift WirelessAIR Compressor System # AL58WQ.
