Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Heavy Load: 5,000-lb Load-Leveling Capacity

When you’re hauling something heavy, rear-end sag throws off steering and braking. The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs give you up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity to keep your ride level and steady. By adding air support between the frame and rear suspension, they reduce strain on your axle, maintain even tire contact with the road, and keep your headlights aimed where they should be. With a balanced truck, steering feels tighter, braking stays predictable, and every trip feels more controlled.

Dial In the Right Support: Adjustable Air Pressure from 5 psi to 100 psi

Not every load is the same, and this system adjusts to match. Each air spring can be tuned from 5 psi to 100 psi for the perfect balance of comfort and control. Running empty? Drop to the minimum pressure for a softer ride. Loaded down for a trip or work haul? Add air to level things out and keep handling sharp. The separate manual inflation valves let you adjust each side independently to correct off-center loads so your truck stays level no matter how it’s packed.

Smooth Out the Drive: Double-Convoluted Rubber Springs

Rough roads and heavy loads don’t have to mean a jolting ride. The Ride-Rite springs use a double-convoluted rubber design with four layers of reinforced rubber and a braided wire girdle to absorb road shock and soften contact between axle and frame. This setup prevents bottoming out while maintaining stability over bumps or rough terrain. You get firm support when you need it and cushioning when the pavement gets rough.

Built to Last Through Real Work: Durable Construction with Corrosion-Resistant Hardware

Firestone engineered these air springs for long-term durability under real-world conditions. Each spring is crimp-sealed to corrosion-resistant metal end plates for maximum strength and leak prevention. The kit includes brackets, air line tubing, hardware, and separate valves for manual inflation so you have everything needed for installation. The Ride-Rite setup holds steady through years of towing, hauling, and daily use without sagging or losing air pressure.

Ready for Expansion: Compatible with Onboard Air Systems

If you want fingertip control of your suspension, these springs are ready for it. They work with optional switches, gauges, compressors, and air tanks (sold separately) that let you inflate or deflate the bags from inside your cab. Whether you prefer manual valves or a full compressor setup, this system gives you flexibility to build it out how you want while keeping your suspension dialed in for any load.

Just what my Tundra needed to help balance load of bed and trailer.
etrailer.com and the products they offer are 100% in my opinion.
Thank You for your excellent service and follow up.

by:

Installation was really easy except for the lower brackets that attach to a lip of metal. There was another piece of metal on the axle that got in the way but i pried and then hammered the bracket into place, squeezing it in. If I didn’t I’d still be able to get the bolt through but I bet as I tightened it down it would move the base plate and wouldn’t be lined up as well. No air is leaking so far. I didn’t buy the compressor so I might screw on some Bluetooth tire pressure monitors so I’ll get notified if pressures drop below 5psi. I have a 2023 Chevy 2500 and surprisingly with 15psi and no load in the bed it rides much better! Doesn’t hop all over the place

by:

This installation took twice as long as it should have! The top plate had to be modified to clear the leaf spring U bolts and shock absorber bracket.
The Jounce doesn’t allow the installation of the 3/8@ bolts close the leaf spring that holds the brackets together. I’m not sure what to do with this now. I saw in other reviews where other people had similar issues. Not sure if it’s the universal bracket design vs having slotted holes like your video.
Any help would be appreciated.
Also both valve inserts had to be replaced!

I purchased this Firestone Air suspension and installed it myself on my 2017 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab 4x4. Not having a lift, I had to use a creeper and tarps under and beside the truck to do the installation. Installation was pretty straight forward after viewing the video from etrailer a few times and using the provided diagrams. You will need good 3/4" drive hand tools for the installation. An electric or air impact wrench and ratchet also speeds things up. I then installed a mini onboard compressor with remote control for in cab or outside operation. The system has never leaked air but if it did, any time the vehicle is started, the compressor will refill the system. I keep 10 lbs. air pressure in it and raise it to 20 when I haul my dirt bike on my hitch carrier and it compensates nicely and keeps the vehicle level. All good so far.

This the 3rd truck I've used and installed myself of the Firestone 5,000lb rated airbags on, and not one has ever failed on me. I used them on a 2007.5 Chevy LMM 2500 LT Silverado, a 2020 Chevy 2500 LTZ Silverado, and yesterday I put them on my 2025 GMC 2500 Denali. I did pair my new bags with an Airlift wireless compressor, which is an awesome addition to the bags. I like the fact that etrailer did a comparison video on the Firestone and AirLift bags, and they found the Firestone bags are of better quality and can support the weight of the axle if you lift the truck off the ground by the frame. If you have never installed these bags, you do not have to lift the truck off the ground or remove your rear tires. If you're like me, and do not have access to a lift, I suggest removing your spare tire, which will give you more seating area, and you will not bonk your head into it. Two thumbs up on this kit

by:

excellent product, very easy (uncomplicated) install. anyone who is somewhat mechanically inclined can install themselves. It took me about 3.5 hours by myself with simple tools and a jack on my garage floor. Hardest part was me getting up and down from the creeper.
On my truck, (2015 GMC) i had to remove Ebrake cable brackets on both sides and reroute, not a big deal. also, did not find it necessary to remove spare tire heat shield, worked around it just fine. Routed my schrader valves through the plate screw holders for easy access.

Not surenif it was your fault or UPS.but there were no accessories nuts and bolts or directions. Box was re taped. I called in and they are sending a new order out. Thank you Ed for handling it.

by:

Perfect for what I needed. I scrap metal from plumbing all the time having the truck loaded down and the airbags bring it right back to factory ride ! Awesome!

etrailer has always been an outstanding company to do business with. I entered some information wrong and they went the extra mile to call me and verify prior to shipping. I would recommend this company for all your automotive parts.

by:

Parts look to be nice however the listing for this product was a little misleading and I should have probably called ahead. First off, the product arrived clearly used with the original tape seal on the package cut and taped over with the contents already assembled and the rest in ziploc bags, so not a brand new product I was expecting. Second, I purchased this with the intent of using this on my 2WD Tacoma, I unfortunately didn't read that the kit was for axles that are over the leaf springs, but one of the five star reviews shows the same setup as me with the axle below the springs (which this kit isn't made for), the jounce bumper on top the spring, and the bump stop plate riveted to the frame. I purchased based on the customer reviews and images and that lead me to purchase the wrong part. I have since gone on firestone's website and the kit that is listed for 4WD Tacoma's only is actually compatible with both the 2WD and 4WD models and is the same kit number [W217602407]. eTrailer should update the descriptions of both these kits and remove the misleading customer photos since I feel the same thing happened to a previous customer who had purchased my kit and returned it.

by:

Not a truck geek, but just an everyday driver. So I am not as in tune with the vehicle performance as those who run them hard on a regular basis.
It seems to me that the bags do the job. I can inflate/deflate them at will with onboard compressor. I originally put these on as I was installing a wedge camper on the truck and had stock suspension. I have since added a leaf which causes less air being needed on a daily basis.
I run about 10 lbs now unless adding a bunch of weight.
Happy enough especially since they are holding air.

Sorry to hear that, Matt. I checked the Firestone # F2410 you ordered and you are correct, we have that listed as only fitting the 2 wheel drive option for Tacoma. For a 4 wheel drive 2023 Tacoma, you want the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2407. This has a different top bracket and is likely what you are needing. I saw you got the incorrect kit returned already, but just let us know if there is anything else we can help with!

by:

Received earlier than expected. Only took 1/2 an hour to install. No drilling or welding. Lifts truck to a respectable level for towing my trailer.

by:

Quality parts! Easy installation if you have the right tools.

by:

Works great thwy do what I needed them for. I carry a lot of work supplies in my Tacoma and I just add air to level the ride out. Best thing is they hold air forever. Had a small air leak in the beginning but after that was fixed haven’t put air in them since. Great product

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Kit that Fits 2024 Toyota Tacoma 4WD
Hey John, so the 2024 Toyota Tacoma is a new designed truck so they currently only have a 2WD version fit with the part # F2410. For 23' the 4WD fit version is the # F2407 but it hasn't been carried over to the 24' models. Right now all we have is a Timbren fit with the part # T67KR which will do a great job reducing the sag.

  • Will Firestone Air Bags Fit 2018 Toyota Tacoma With 1" Rear Lift Without Spacers
Hey Jeff! More than likely the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs will fit without spacers. However, I recommend measuring to be sure. With your truck sitting level, measure the distance between where the upper and lower brackets mount on your truck as seen in the picture below. If you have a 6-1/2" - 7-1/2" measurement between brackets you will need the # F2536 (1-1/4" spacer) Do you have the 2WD or 4WD model? If it is 2WD and your axle is located above the leaf spring pack you need...

  • Are There Air Bag Ktis that Fit 2006 Toyota Tacoma SR5
Hey John, yes we do have air bag kits that fit your 2006 Toyota Tacoma SR5 but you'll need to know whether your axle sits above or below your leaf springs. If above you'd need the part # F2410 from Firestone or if below you'd want the part # F2407. From what I was able to find the SR5 has the springs below the axle which makes the truck sit higher and definitely checks out.

  • Best Rear Air Bags for my 2019 Toyota Tacoma
I have a great solution for you! I really like the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs that you looked at they are by far the best bags for the money. The major reason is the way the air bags are connected to the caps on the end Firestone uses a rolled crimp so unlike other options for your Tacoma you can actually lift the truck in the air for maintenance where as with the others it is not recommended. You will have to take a quick look at the rear suspension to pick the right ones....

In talking with Firestone they have only every confirmed using the dual path compressor to eliminate this issue and do not have a specific check valve for that application. It is worth noting that by going this route if you were to have more weight on one side of your pickup it could potentially cause air to transfer from one air bag to the other if they aren't at full capacity. To prevent this you can use a single function compressor kit like the Firestone...
