Where Is The Switch To Change The PD4645V Converter To A Lithium Charge Profile?
Updated 03/22/2024 | Published 03/15/2024 >
Question:
I bought the magnetek 6345 from e trailer, specifically to charge Lithium batteries. The voltage is only 13.6v and a max of 26 amps is all I get, even with the batteries discharged. Your QandA indicates there is a switch for Lithium, I’ve tried the charge Wizard button but nothing changes. The instructions say that on the Lithium version 6345LI the button does nothing. Nowhere is there an Li designation on the unit and it isn’t mentioned in your QandA. The response is that there’s a “switch” for lithium. Where is the switch? The instructions only mention only the Charge Wizard.

Hey Dave, so you bought the # PD4645V converter section for your magnatek 6345 converter, is that correct? If so, the # PD4645V does have a jumper which can be set to the Li or Lithium mode. I have included a screenshot of the instructions below to show you where it is. With the jumper in the LI position the charger will maintain the lithium batteries with the required 14.6V.

I have an update on my 4645. I found a ban start switch on my generator, disconnected the generator from the system and now I get 41.4 amps going to the battery, but it still only puts out 13.7 volts??
