Should Trailer Hub/Drum be Replaced if it Has 1/8" Groove

Question:
The face of my RV wheel hubs have a 1/8 groove wore in them where the magnet sticks to it when applying the brakes. At what point should the brake hub be replaced? Can these be turned for more life?

Expert Reply:
A trailer hub & drum should be smooth, and should not have any groove in it. A 1/8" groove is pretty concerning and you should replace the drum right away, turning them won't work.
