Hi, My husband has a 2023 Nissan Frontier pickup truck. We are purchasing a dual axle motorcycle trailer that has electronic brakes. Would you be able to help me understand which products would suit his truck? To utilize the electronic brakes in the trailer? Second question - maybe a dumb one - but would the electronic brake wiring also connect the trailer brake lights / directionals and so forth? Thanks in advance

Towing a trailer with brakes will require adding a 7-way along with a brake controller. Since you were already looking at 4-way wiring I'm assuming there is no factory trailer connector on his 2023 Nissan Frontier. All you will need to add a 7-way is the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56226. The brakes and the lights aren't tied to the same wires but the 7-way will take care of powering all your lights along with sending power to the brakes.
For a brake controller, I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR. The main unit of this brake controller installs behind the dash so only the control knob is visible in the cab of the truck. This means it doesn't take up space and it also gives it a nice OEM look. The knob controls the braking power and also acts as the manual override. You will also want to grab the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers # RED39FR for installation. This lets you plug the brake controller into the port under the dash so no splicing is required.
