Hi everybody. Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our Benton HotMesh cargo cover. That's right folks. This cargo cover is gonna be great for covering your 24 by 60 or smaller cargo carriers full of gear. Now I wanna start off with this closeup just to kind of show you.
So what's neat about this product, in my opinion, is that the bag itself and everything is built into the the cover itself. So everything is inside of here. I'm gonna go ahead and zoom out so you can see it unfold. So all you simply do is take it out. You will physically invert the liner, 'cause again, the liner's part of this cover, which is pretty neat.
So you get everything inverted here laid out and boom. So a very nice large, again, mesh cargo cover by Benton. As you can see, it's got straps all the way around. These are super, super stitch here on the sides on all the way around. And they have nice buckles to make you really easy to click into place.
And then you can simply cinch that strap tighter or looser. And they give you a nice length, about three foot on each of these straps. So you know, potentially that 24 by 60 cargo carrier full of gear looks something like this. Whenever this is installed, it looks like there's a nice full-sized cooler underneath there, some extra gear, bags, sleeping bags, whatnot. And again, this is not keeping water out, it is simply a mesh covering.
So it's gonna keep air going through there, which is nice 'cause you won't to worry about it getting sucked up or flapping in the wind and those kind of things. And the fact that they have straps built all the way around 'em, I personally like, because now I have it tight all the way around my gear, which is really nice. So a very nice design. Again, that bag itself is built into the design, which I think is pretty cool. Something different you don't see. And as far as putting it back in there, what I recommend doing is folding it back up. So you've got back from your vacation or wherever you're going for the day, week, whatever, and you simply just fold everything back up inside of itself to make it go back in the bag with ease. So what we're gonna do now is invert this back around and you may have to play with it a little bit, but it's pretty simple. And I've done this a couple times and you can actually just kinda loosely push it all in there as well. You don't have to fold it up. I find that it's a little bit cleaner looking at the end when you do fold it all back up. But again, a really, really neat design idea. Something different that a lot of companies, I don't think I've seen another one like this honestly, that does this but. And then keep in mind, you gotta fold out all this extra bag down here and it will fit back in there. So we're pushing our corners back inside, getting everything nice and flat. Okay, so now it's about the size, I would say, of what I would call a medium-sized women's purse. Don't quote me on that 'cause I don't use a purse personally, but that's what we're looking at folks. A nice small, compact HotMesh cargo cover by Benton. I'm Steven. Thanks for watching.
I recently gave this hot mesh cargo cover a try, and I’m honestly pretty impressed! First off, the straps are long enough that we put a huge trashcan in the cargo carrier on it's side and was able to strap it down.
What really sold me on it, though, is how versatile it is. There are so many straps so it fits over both larger and smaller items in the cargo carrier without a problem. We tried it with a big cooler and a smaller tote, and everything stayed tight and didn’t slide around.
I’ve used cargo nets in the past, but they always end up tangled, and I spend way more time untangling them than actually securing my stuff. The hot mesh doesn’t do that at all—it stays untangled and folds into itself for easy storage. If you’re looking for a simple, reliable way to secure your gear in the cargo carrier, this is the way to go.
holds item in cargo basket neatly. keeps things from flapping. love it.
Perfect fit and appears substantial & d urable.
Don’t know. Looks ok. Had hand surgery the day it arrived. Will check it out when Stiches are removed. Will be a few weeks yet…
Have not had time or weather conditions to use it yet but unwrapped it and looks to be made very well.
