Expert Reply:
You can replace your surge brake actuator on your boat trailer with the Hydrapro Alpha G-1600X Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # DH44FR. You can either replace your coupler or lock it out to save some money. You will also need to add a 7-way # H20043, a breakaway kit # 20400, and a brake controller # 90195 if you don't already have one.
The Hydrapro Alpha G-1600X is weatherproof. However, just like other major EOH actuator brands, this should not be submerged in water. Submerging in water or directly spraying it with a power washer could cause the actuator to malfunction. In most cases this isn't a problem. If your boat trailer setup will submerge the actuator it is best to construct a small platform so it sits higher and would stay out of the water when launching your boat.
