Notes:

The QSP trailer hitch silencer is the perfect accessory for your 2" x 2" Draw-Tite hitch. It enhances your towing experience by helping to reduce the free play that exists between your trailer hitch receiver and your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. By adding the QSP to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate noisy rattle, jarring, vibrations, and sway that might otherwise cause damage to your hitch or equipment.

Draw-Tite QSP installationDraw-Tite QSP on a hitch receiver

Installing the QSP silencer and cover is easy. Slide the QSP bracket over the collar of your hitch receiver. Then attach the cover to the bracket with the included hinge pin.

Draw-Tite QSP installed on a hitch receiver with a ball mount

To use the QSP, open the cover and raise the lever. Then insert your accessory or towing equipment into your hitch receiver and secure it with a pin and clip (sold separately). Finally, lower the lever to tighten the QSP around your receiver and the shank of your accessory or towing equipment.

Draw-Tite QSP as a hitch receiver cover

When you're not using your receiver, the attached cover helps to keep out grime and works to deter rust. This hinged cover proudly displays the well-known Draw-Tite name on the back of your vehicle. Magnets in the cover and on the bracket help to keep the cover closed.

etrailer! Is a life saver! First I looked around to get a a hitch installed on my 2023 Mazda Cx9. To have it done by a local installer the prices were somewhat outrageous. I’ve installed a hitch on a previous vehicle, so once I found etrailer and the prices were very reasonable. I installed it with no problems, just followed their videos which made it easy!
I am just waiting on the back order of the wire harness to come in and shipped to me! One other great thing about the etrailer staff…I also ordered a anti rattle silencer! When the box arrived via UPS both ends of the hitch were sticking out of the box…when I opened the box the anti rattle silencer was not in the bag it was shipped in . Looks like UPS through it back in the torn box but didn’t place the pin needed to use the silencer. I wrote etrailer about the missing piece along with pictures. And they corrected my problem. So I highly recommend etrailer for your trailering needs!
Thanks etrailer

Love the product and figured it would fit my Draw-tite hitch I purchased from etrailer and installed on my 2013 Ford Explorer XLT. it does not fit properly. I believe a weld on the top lip of the receiver is stopping it from sitting properly. Very very tough to get on and then once on it doesn’t sit flush on the receiver and I can’t get the hitch ball bathe in. Feeling disappointed. Is there a resolution? Emailed Matthew M with info and pictures but have not gotten any response yet. Please advise.

Comments
I contacted the manufacturer and the problem is that the welds for the safety chain bracket and the collar meet at the same place and does not leave a gap for the hitch cover to sit. This is a very odd application, but there is no defective products, just a compatibility issue with this specific hitch. Customer Service will contact you.

by:

This hitch Silencer came with the hitch itself, but the pin that holds the door onto the assembly was missing. Contacted customer service and received one ASAP. Great great service!

by:

Easy install and video instructions were great. I would recommend these products for anyone wanting to DYI a hitch …save yourself some money and buy these products.

by:

When I first opened the hitch cover, the little magnet (that is supposed to hold the cover closed) immediately fell out. After gluing the magnet back on, the hitch cover fit nicely, and the magnetic closure worked. However, this hitch cover does not work with a hitch mounted bicycle rack that has its own integrated hitch pin, as shown in the attached photo. The integrated hitch pin prevents the lever on the right-hand side from closing and tightening the hitch cover. Seems like a decent product for use only with a hitch that uses a separate hitch pin and clip.

Comments
I will have customer service reach out to you about the magnet. However, it does look like you have a Thule bike rack with the integrated anti-rattle hitch pin. You will not need both the draw-tite QSP and the bike rack anti-rattle at the same time.

I tested it out with a hitch to see how it worked. Although I did not trailer anything the silencer did take the play out of the hitch. Not sure why the cover is needed since the silencer does not tighten when thete is no hitch in the receiver; thus, i removed it when not in use.

by:

The trailer hitch(item 76194) that I purchased for my 2022 XC60 Volvo worked great. I installs it myself with a little help from my 19 year old grandson. We has No problems, I have not installed the T-One wiring Harness, it not needed at this time.

by:

Silencer does the silencing and anti wobble job fine but when not in use in use the magnet does not keep cover closed going down the road.

by:

I actually have a CURT hitch and hoped the cover would fit, but it no where near fits! I put electrical tape on the cover base inside to try and take up the looseness and that helped but I doubt it will be a lengthy fix. It's just a bandaid. I also felt the magnet would not hold the unit from opening at speed so I drilled a couple spots for adding a couple more earth magnets which also helped. I wish your company would say that it won't fit other major brands so I am not disappointed like I was...

Comments
We do list on the product page that the application is for 2 x 2 Draw Tite hitch receivers and that some Curt hitches have a collar that is too thick for this to work properly. I recommend taking a look at part # RM-061
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches
$29.95
or part # C27UR
Curt Anti-Rattle Hitch Clamp for 2" Hitches
$28.37

Installed on 2020 Forester with DrawTite hitch receiver. The installation instructions were clear and simple to follow. Attaching receivers or accessories is easy if you remember to Align the opening of the silencer before inserting the hitch. The anti-rattle works well to stabilize my fully loaded Yakima HoldUp 4 bike rack. When not in use the cover keeps the receiver clean.
The only negative was the magnet in the door half was poorly glued and detached. Fortunately it remained attached to the other magnet. Cleaned the residue and re-attached with gorilla glue - magnet is better than new!

Comments
After a year of using it with a fully loaded Yakima HoldUp 4 bike rack the anti-rattle continues to work like it was new. The magnetic cover keeps the receiver clean when not in use. Easy to the hitch if you remember to first align the silencer opening, and virtually no rattle. Glad I purchased it!

by:

Not a perfect fit for my hitch (Curt) but managed to make it work anyway. Great price, good service, shipping to Canada was long, but I got my parts :)

Comments
Overall still functionning great. Only issue was the small magnet holding the trap shut corroded and it would open randomly. Quick fix was to replace the metal puck on the door side with a magnet, now you really need to WANT to open it! for the initial price I paid, i cant complain

by:

This working like a dream. It keeps the hitch clean and ready to receive my bike carrier.

by:

The trailer hitch silencer does an excellent job of preventing a trailer hitch from rattling. However, the silver lever which tightens the silencer sticks out below the device, and I was concerned that if I dragged my receiver on the ground, either while driving forward or while backing up, the lever would get damaged or torn off. To prevent this from happening, I installed the silencer upside-down. It works just as well that way, but that orientation protects the lever. Another deficiency of the device is that the magnet which is supposed to hold the cover shut isn't nearly strong enough, so the door is likely to hang open, which exposes it to damage. As a result, I remove the silencer when I don't have a hitch in my receiver. This is a minor hassle because you have to push the hinge pin out in order to remove the silencer from your receiver.

by:

The over all design is good BUT very cheap and weak plastic pin. So much that I went out and bought 3 of 4"long bolts, washer, and locking nut so it would not come apart. It was another $4 to do all 3 units but it is better than loosing everything.

by:

I didn’t realize this only fit Draw-Tite hitch, doesn’t fit my Curt hitch. I sold fits 2”
Why too loose on mine.

Comments
I looked into this fit on a curt hitch receiver and what is probably happening is that the collar around the receiver opening on the Curt hitch has a very thick powder coat that is preventing the Draw-Tite QSP # 63080 from fitting properly. If you were to sand away some of the powder coat on the collar it would likely fit. That would be easier than trying to modify the QSP. It goes without saying but make sure that the cam tightening lever on the QSP is open when trying to install it on the hitch.

by:

Great hitch cover and minimizes the rattling when the hitch is engaged.

by:

I like the look. Can't give it 5 stars yet as I still need to get the hook so in terms of function I can't rate it yet. Will update once I get my hitch.

by:

I had no idea how this would attach to the receiver, but it is much better than expected. There is metal inside of the back part of this cover and a flip-lever so you can slide it on and attach it. Nicely made.

by:

Easy to install hitch. 3" by 3" cutout for the receiver was somewhat overkill and would have left a larger fascia opening than necessary. Did have to allow for part of the receiver area but only farther underneath the fascia. Overall very pleased with the product.

by:

Installation was way less than a minute.
To
use just loosen the lever, insert your ball mount and hitch pin as normal, then clamp the lever down.
I've got some rough roads I travel some times which caused me to give this a try.
I've traveled those roads using this silencer and it was quiet and peaceful.
Don't know how long it will hold up, but it's working great now.
Tried to add photos, but it wouldn't work.

Comments
Ive used the Draw-Tite Hitch Anti-Rattle numerous times. It works just as good today as it did the first time. Its so much nicer having a quiet ride. A bigger trailer might not work the same, but I would recommend you give it a try.

After watching the posted videos and pictures I purchased the item for my 2019 Ram with factory installed hitch. This product does not fit properly and is loose once installed. While it somewhat locks the hitch receiver, it still moves and rattles. The design looks good but that’s the only positive comment I can give it for my situation. etrailer product shipping response is exceptional!

Comments
You mentioned that it was not working for your 2019 Ram factory installed hitch. I wanted to let you know that it is meant to be used with Draw Tite after market hitches. For your factory hitch I would recommend this sleeve style device part # 325-GH-033

$31.62
or this u bolt style part # RM-061
Roadmaster Quiet Hitch for 2" Trailer Hitches

First before you complain, read about this cover. It's designed for certain DrawTite hitches. Mine is a class 3 DrawTite on a 2017 Honda CRV bought from etrailer also. I bought two covers. The other for a factory Ford F150 hitch. The CRV fits and works as advertised. The F150 fit was a tiny bit loose on the receiver and I remedied this with a strip of high density foam inserted in the channel oppositethe tightening lever. It too now fits and works well. So why a 4 star? Nothings perfect, and this design is far from that. The hinge pin is about as stupid as it could get. The tiny magnet is minimally adequate. A little longer hinge pin with a clip would ensure retention, and mechanical magnet attachment certainly would help the design. For what it costs it appears worth that, and with all the complaints from those trying to put it on the wrong hitch, I can see why etrailer is trying to dump these. As for me I read the requirements, took a chance on the F150 fit (I'm a retired aeronautical engineer) so I figured I could correct and adapt what didn't fit. That bit was really easy and doesn't affect fit form or function. So thanks again to etrailer. I'll be back.

by:

The anti-rattle hitch is awesome,,,my only complaint is the magnet that keeps the door closed must have come off. The metal circle is on the door but the magnet on the hitch case is gone and door flaps open and close when I drive. But I use it alot for my deer basket and it's so quiet.

by:

Excellent cover for the hitch and the anti-rattle feature makes for a quieter ride.

There isn't a plastic sleeve reducer for the inside of the receiver as that would break down and eventually either change towing capacity or create rattle.

Technically speaking? Yes, you can use the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover # 63080 without the cap.
