The QSP trailer hitch silencer is the perfect accessory for your 2" x 2" Draw-Tite hitch. It enhances your towing experience by helping to reduce the free play that exists between your trailer hitch receiver and your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. By adding the QSP to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate noisy rattle, jarring, vibrations, and sway that might otherwise cause damage to your hitch or equipment.

Installing the QSP silencer and cover is easy. Slide the QSP bracket over the collar of your hitch receiver. Then attach the cover to the bracket with the included hinge pin.

To use the QSP, open the cover and raise the lever. Then insert your accessory or towing equipment into your hitch receiver and secure it with a pin and clip (sold separately). Finally, lower the lever to tighten the QSP around your receiver and the shank of your accessory or towing equipment.

When you're not using your receiver, the attached cover helps to keep out grime and works to deter rust. This hinged cover proudly displays the well-known Draw-Tite name on the back of your vehicle. Magnets in the cover and on the bracket help to keep the cover closed.

Video Transcript for Draw-Tite Hitch Anti-Rattle - Standard Anti-Rattle - 63080 Review

Today, we're going to review part number 63080. This is the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for two-inch hitch receivers. The "QSP" stands for "Quiet Secure Performance." Now, this is a combination hitch receiver silencer and a cover. It helps keep your hitch quiet, stable and clean. It is specifically designed to fit on two-inch by two-inch hitch receivers. It is ideal to be used with hitch mounted accessories such as bike racks, cargo carriers.

It'll also work with ball mounts. This does quiet your ride by helping to eliminate the rattle and vibrations within your hitch receiver. This will stiffen and reinforce the connection between your hitch receiver and towing equipment or accessories and it will reduce the risk of equipment damage caused be a loose connection. I do have an example here of a Draw-Tite hitch. We're going to install it on to show you how it works. This will apply tension to whatever you insert in there with this easy to use lever. When you're not putting anything in the hitch receiver, you can close this door on it, it protects your receiver from any dirt and grime by covering up the opening. The door itself, you can see, is hinged to the bracket for safekeeping, opens and closes like a door.

If you'll notice right here, they do have a magnet, so when you close it, it will stay closed and not open up. It does install very easily. It'll slide onto the end of your hitch receiver, it stays on the hitch. It is made of a durable plastic construction. It is designed for two-inch by two-inch hitch receivers. To give you an idea of the length on this, it's about four-and-a-quarter inches long, by about three-and-five-eighths inches tall and about two-and-a-half inches deep.

Now, a note on this, is it's not to be used on any of the OEM factory style hitches. When you receive it, you'll get it just like this. What'll you first need to do to install it is to remove the door. There's a pin that holds this door on. If you just start at the top and push with a small screwdriver down on the pin, the pin will pop out. Then, all you have to do is just go ahead and slide the pin out and remove the door.

Then, when you do that, if you notice, there's an opening right here. What you'll do is start on the passenger side of the vehicle and just slide this across the collar on the hitch. Then, take your door and your pin. The thing you want to make sure is that when you put the pin back in, that you go from the bottom because the very bottom is wider than the top. When you put the door back on, you don't want to go from the top, you want to start at the bottom and push up. Then, just line the hole back up, push your pin all the way up, then you'll see your door is attached. Now, to install, what we're going to do, is I'm going to take an example. Here's a ball mount that we're going to slide in. What you want to do is open the lever on the side, have your door open and then just go ahead and install your ball mount, push it until your hole lines up and then use your five-eighths-inch diameter pin and clip. Put your pin through, put your clip on there. Then, you'll notice, it's holding your ball mount in, your ball mount still wiggles a little bit. What you'll want to do then is, after it's installed, is you're going to have to apply some pressure on this lever. Then, once you push down hard enough, it will lock that into place. You'll notice that the ball mount will not move at all. It's almost like a solid piece with the hitch itself. Again, your door will stay open. There's a little tab there that'll keep it from flapping open, but your door will just stay open on the side. Then, you're all ready to go. Then, to remove it, all you'll need to do is just go ahead and pull back up on this lever, that'll release it. Take your pin and clip out, slide your ball mount back out. If you're not going to be using it, just go ahead and put your clip down, close your door, it'll stay with the magnet closed, and you're all ready to go. That should do it for the review on part number 63080, the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for the two-inch hitch receivers. .

I bought the trailer hitch for a bike rack and the hitch silencer to stop the rattle of my rack. I added the wiring harness mainly because it was so simple to install and I might need it in the future. In a nut shell, you had every thing I needed at a fair price and excellent quality. My order was shipped and delivered quickly. The videos on you website are the really the icing on the cake. This was not my first purchase from etrailer and I will always look at your website first when I need something for my vehicles. 722831

I recently installed a #76156 Draw-Tite Hitch on a 2016 Toyota Highlander. I used a multi-tool with a standard cutting blade to trim the splash guard and exhaust deflector. The vehicle had been Zei(xxxx) rustproofed, but, as I expected, uncoated areas were discovered when the splash guard and spare tire were removed. I treated the areas with a quality spray can undercoating before and after the hitch installation. I checked tyhe condition and pressure of the spare, and sanded some rust and sprayed a little black paint on the rim. I re-used the longer bolts for the tow hook to anchor the passenger side of the hitch, but did not cut the fascia. I sprayed all six holes and the bolts with lithium grease before installing the hitch. Here are the photos of the result. Hope this helps. 718098

I purchased Item #76128 Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver and Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover Item #63080 which will be used primarily for a Yakima hitch mount bike rack on our 2017 CRV AWD Touring. The hitch and cover were well packaged and arrived in great shape. Your website, including product descriptions, videos and installation instructions were excellent and gave me the confidence that the installation would go smoothly. I was able to install the hitch receiver by myself. After lowering and securely suspending the CRV exhaust assembly I placed the hitch mounting brackets on top of the mufflers while putting a strap through the back of the hitch receiver and the CRV to hook. I was then able to use a jack to raise the hitch into place and loosely secure the bolts on the passenger side. The opposite side was a breeze. The hardest part was tightening/torqueing the bolts on the passenger side due to the cramped quarters. Your fish wires are genius! The Draw-Tite Hitch cover & silencer was very easy to install and gives the hitch a very clean appearance. 696443

Good product, stylin', keeps stuff out of your receiver. Used in conjunction with a front mount receiver hitch from Draw Tite on my 2011 Ram 2500. 424677

Definitely helps create a tighter seal with the hitch receiver and mount. Recommended with the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver and Ball Mount Kit for 2" Hitches - 7,500 lbs. 451963

The Draw-tite works as designed with the standard trailer hitch but doesn't work if using a hitch extender. This is my only complaint. The device is easy to install and the magnet holds the cover shut. Overall, a really good product. 453651

After balking at the cost to have an auto-shop add a trailer to our Toyota Highlander, we found etrailer.com and decided to take a chance. The "how to" videos factored considerably in our decision to buy ... they made it look so easy! And surprise! It really -WAS- that easy. We used standard block-type ramps (the kind you can buy for $40 ) to get the SUV up off the ground high enough to get underneath to do the work. Everything came off as easy as it was showed in the videos. Other than the fact this bar is a heavy so we had our teen daughter help hold it steady while we bolted it into place (i.e., get help for when you go to lift it), it went super smooth. Thanks for saving us $280 over the cost the car dealer quoted us! P.S. - be sure to watch the linked videos so you get the right trailer lighting attachment and ball hitch for your new hitch. 510342

We are very happy with our trailer hitch, and all the accoutrements that we purchased with it. Your videos were enormously helpful, the hitch went on easily with a bit of help from our teenage daughter to lift it up into place, and we recommend your business to friends when they express an interest in getting a camper.

I have a small trailer and an old car that I need to toe and I wanted a hitch that would be mostly hidden and this one fit exactly how I wanted it to. It was easy to install. Ordering was easy and delivery was quick. The on line help and advise, spot on. My wiring questions were answered, thank you Jason S, and the install videos helpful as well. (Watched them more than once). You guys ( Jason, George and John) made this easy. Thank you. 481677

The Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer & Cover is in theory a clever item - a cam-lock type of mechanism which tightens a thick rubber gasket around the hitch preventing it from moving/rattling, plus not a bad looking receiver cover added on. So I thought I'd give this dual-purpose and the simple design a try. However, in use it has proven to be a big hassle - the magnet that keeps the cover closed is not strong enough - the cover rarely remains in the closed position (thereby allowing all sorts of road gravel into the inside of the receiver). The thick rubber gasket (which is compressed by the cam-lock mechanism) is too snug and always makes for a very difficult struggle just getting the hitch in and out of this unit. End result, a waste of money - I took this off and I am looking for another option. Not happy with this product. 447331

Would not buy this product again. Magnets used to keep cover closed corroded and cover remains open. Also the lever that tightens the hitch has become loose and in time doesn’t secure the hitch enough to prevent rattling and movement. 562384

I just got the product and haven't installed it yet but the packaging was torn to shreds. Even the UPS delivery guy commented about it. Everything was there. The products all look as described and I am pleased with that. I will let you know how it installs when we are done. Thanks 370154

I bought this accessory thinking I could use it to quiet the rattling that typically occurs with a ball mount in the receiver, which it does, but also to cover the empty receiver when the ball mount is not installed, which it also does. However, when the ball mount is not installed in the receiver, this item itself is loose on the receiver, and can rattle. It is designed to slide laterally on the end of the receiver, as you operate the aluminum locking lever. With a ball mount installed, this presses the mount against the side of the receiver, preventing it from moving as much as it would without the device. Without a ball mount installed, it can slide back and forth as you drive down the road, and the locking lever will not stay fully locked. Also, the door magnets are very weak. I am sure that any car wash brushes will easily flip the door open. I would just use it only when the ball mount is installed, and remove it when it's not, but to do so would require removing/installing the plastic hinge pin each time, and I doubt it will be durable enough to tolerate too many removals/installations before breaking. I could have done without this, I think. 366729

I was excited to purchase the Draw-Tite hitch anti rattle device, so I ordered two, but when I went to installed the device it would not go on the hitch of the class "A" diesel pusher. So I tried to install on our F-350 and it would not go on. Both of the units have factory installed hitches. The device is not wide enough in the channel area, nor is it wide enough to slide over the receiver. So with this said, what hitch will they fit. 476964

Comments

George, It sounds as if your class A motorhome and your ford F-350 have a 2 1/2 inch hitch. You can measure the opening of your hitch to determine what you have. These draw-tite hitch silencers are made to fit a 2 inch hitch. If you have a 2 1/2 inch hitch I would recommend roadmaster quiet hitch part #RM-062. I have attached a link to help you measure your hitch opening.

Went on my Drawtite hitch as shown. Seems to me that the door could latch a little tighter when it is covering the hitch receiver. Also, when cargo carrier is in hitch and the latch is secured to tighten the tongue in the receiver there is still a little bit of play. This could be cargo carrier specific Generally, for the cost this is ok. Will report more after my 2000 mile move to Colorado. 430278

Comments

This product, after a year, I think is just so-so. The magnet that latches the door when the hitch is not in use is weak and as a result the hitch receiver can become quite dirty resulting in difficulties when using my cargo carrier. The built in anti rattle feature sometimes isnt the greatest, allowing some rattle noise in certain road and driving conditions.

I am very pleased with my new trailer hitch receiver (76112). It hides very neatly under the plastic tank cover with only the receiver sticking out. It looks very much like it was installed from the factory. I also purchased the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Silencer this was a great addition, not only does it reduce noise and vibration it looks great when its not use. It has a magnetic door that covers up the receiver hole.. Very Nice !! I've ordered from etrailer at least twice now, their staff has always been very helpful, shipping was very fast and accurate.. I Highly recommend them !! 520933

Worked great for the 3 days I have had it installed. Unfortunately I bottomed out the hitch on a driveway causing the aluminum handle to bend and the magnet came loose causing the door to swing freely now. When I did use it for the bike rack it worked great. It would still work great if the magnet didn't pop out holding the door closed. Kind of bummed it was a waste of $20. I can't find an adhesive to hold the magnet in place. 527199

Fills the hitch opening and looks pretty cool. If there was a criticism, it would be that the hinge pin to let you open it to the left for hitch insertion, should probably be from the top down instead of the bottom up--thinking gravity? 728954

Horrible! I was hopeful, but in the end nice concept and looks good, but fell short. When placed on my high it was very loose and rattles when not in use (IRONIC). Door magnet is weak and too small for the application. When placed in service, the movement of my rack remained exactly the same, as if I had no anti-rattle device in place. Hinge pin is plastic and is not durable to live up to use, especially if the pin needs to be pulled periodically. It was completely unable to do as stated. Would not recommend, true disappointment. 723102

  • How to Tell if you Have the Factory Towing Package 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
  • I do have a few items you can look for that will give you an idea as to whether or not your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox came equipped with the factory tow package (K5L) or not but the only sure fire way to tell would be to obtain your VIN and contact the dealer as they would be able to confirm if your vehicle came equipped with the factory tow package. From my research, the factory towing package on your 2018 Chevrolet Equinox came with a transmission and engine oil cooler. Therefore, if...

  • Is Fascia Trimming Required to Install Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch on a 2018 Porsche Cayenne
  • According to the installation instructions for a Porsche Cayenne there is no trimming of the fascia needed to install the Draw-Tite # 75950. This is a confirmed fit for your 2018 Cayenne and I recommend giving yourself a clean looking install with the Draw-Tite # 63080 cover which can stay installed even when you are using the receiver. If you will be using this trailer hitch to tow then you also need wiring and a ball mount kit. You also need a brake controller if you plan on towing...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch for a 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon with the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Rack
  • In order to use the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack part # SH22G for gray, part # SH22B for black, or part # SH22P for pearl on the back of your 2016 Subaru Outback Wagon, I recommend install the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver part # 75673 which is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver tube opening. This hitch installs perfectly on your Outback Wagon and will allow you to use the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 2-Bike Platform Rack. The only other item I recommend is a hitch cover like...

  • Recommended 2 Inch Hitch Stabilizer and Cover for Curt Class III Trailer Hitch
  • I do have a solution for you, however the collar on the receiver portion of the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13152 that you mentioned is simply too large to accommodate fitment of the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer # 63080. I went out to the warehouse to test fitment and found the same issue that you did. Because this cover is specially designed for Draw-Tite hitches, there are certain Curt hitches that it will not work with. For a similar anti-rattle/stabilizing device, I recommend...

  • Anti-Rattle Device Recommendation for Hitch of 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5
  • The Draw Tite anti-rattle device part # 63080 is only tested on Draw Tite hitches so it would not work on your 2018 Toyota 4Runner SR5. For a similar anti-rattle device the Roadmaster Quiet Hitch part # RM-061 would do a similar job and fit well on your factory hitch. I attached a review video for this hitch for more info for you to check out as well.

I also recommend the Draw-Tite QSP Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover for 2" Hitch Receivers # 63080 to go with this receiver. I've attached a video of this product to assist. • Raising Height of a Bike Rack and Using Anti-Rattle on a 2015 Nissan Rogue
  • The length needed is going to be a bit of a problem. Out of all the adapters the best option is going to be # RM-048-4 and even it would just barely work and you may need to push up the rear fascia if it gets in the way. Keep in mind that the use of an adapter will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. So the combined weight of the bikes and bike rack cannot exceed the reduced tongue weight capacity. Because the hitch receiver is so far recessed under...

  • Reese specifies that the # 63080 is not for use with OEM hitches like what you have on your 2011 Ford F-150. But we have other anti-rattle devices and hitch covers that you can use with your vehicle. For accessories with hollow shanks I recommend the SilentACT locking pin and anti-rattle device # SHP2082. It features a cam lever that makes tightening the pin easier than using a wrench like on similar models. For accessories that have a solid shank I recommend the Hitch Immobilizer...

  • Draw-Tite QSP Anti-Rattle, Trailer Hitch Silencer and Cover Not Fitting Curt Trailer Hitch
  • What is probably happening is that the collar around the receiver opening on the Curt hitch has a very thick powder coat that is preventing the Draw-Tite QSP # 63080 from fitting properly. If you were to sand away some of the powder coat on the collar it would likely fit. That would be easier than trying to modify the QSP. It goes without saying but make sure that the cam tightening lever on the QSP is open when trying to install it on the hitch.
