  • Dimensions: 4-1/4" long x 3-5/8" tall x 2-1/2" deep
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Notes:

  • This hitch silencer and cover is not for use on OEM (factory) hitches or on Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Class 5 hitches.
  • This will not work on hitches that install flush with the bumper on your vehicle.
  • Some Curt hitches have a collar that is too thick to allow this to work properly.

The QSP trailer hitch silencer is the perfect accessory for your 2" x 2" Draw-Tite hitch. It enhances your towing experience by helping to reduce the free play that exists between your trailer hitch receiver and your ball mount or hitch-mounted accessory. By adding the QSP to your setup, you can stabilize your hitch-mounted accessory as it sits in the receiver to eliminate noisy rattle, jarring, vibrations, and sway that might otherwise cause damage to your hitch or equipment.

Draw-Tite QSP installationDraw-Tite QSP on a hitch receiver

Installing the QSP silencer and cover is easy. Slide the QSP bracket over the collar of your hitch receiver. Then attach the cover to the bracket with the included hinge pin.

Draw-Tite QSP installed on a hitch receiver with a ball mount

To use the QSP, open the cover and raise the lever. Then insert your accessory or towing equipment into your hitch receiver and secure it with a pin and clip (sold separately). Finally, lower the lever to tighten the QSP around your receiver and the shank of your accessory or towing equipment.

Draw-Tite QSP as a hitch receiver cover

When you're not using your receiver, the attached cover helps to keep out grime and works to deter rust. This hinged cover proudly displays the well-known Draw-Tite name on the back of your vehicle. Magnets in the cover and on the bracket help to keep the cover closed.

etrailer! Is a life saver! First I looked around to get a a hitch installed on my 2023 Mazda Cx9. To have it done by a local installer the prices were somewhat outrageous. I’ve installed a hitch on a previous vehicle, so once I found etrailer and the prices were very reasonable. I installed it with no problems, just followed their videos which made it easy!
I am just waiting on the back order of the wire harness to come in and shipped to me! One other great thing about the etrailer staff…I also ordered a anti rattle silencer! When the box arrived via UPS both ends of the hitch were sticking out of the box…when I opened the box the anti rattle silencer was not in the bag it was shipped in . Looks like UPS through it back in the torn box but didn’t place the pin needed to use the silencer. I wrote etrailer about the missing piece along with pictures. And they corrected my problem. So I highly recommend etrailer for your trailering needs!
Thanks etrailer

So far used it once for a trailer haul of 600+ miles! No rattle at all! I had to keep looking in the rear view mirror to make sure trailer was still there.

by:

I love this device. I use it for my hitch mounted ebike carrier. The rack plus the bikes is pretty heavy and this hitch silencer gives me the peace of mind that the rack won't rattle too much. Very solid!
Since I don't leave the rack on all the time, this piece makes it so much easier to take it on and off. The other kind of anti-rattle hook up was a heavy metal plate that I had to bolt on each time I needed to use it and same to take it off. Here I just flip the lever and I'm good to go.
Also since it stays on the hitch all the time it makes a nice cover.

This is a very handy and cost effective method to stop rattling.I use it for my ebike carrier which is very heavy. After a year, I still appreciate it. One little glitch is that the cover does not stay shut.Cery minor issue - I just put a piece of tape on it.

by:

Went on tight and secure. Draw Tite hitches are always excellent and etrailer is the only place I will ever purchase hitches.

by:

This cover is great. It completely prevented any rattling at the connection point. It also keeps your hitch reciver cleaner and looking sharper when you're not towing. Also prevents you from smashing up the hitch receiver, which aids in preventing any rusting. We towed a 6'x12' trailer that weighed almost 6000 lbs packed, from PA to FL with zero noise or rattling the entire trip, thanks to this cover/silencer. Great product for the money.

A year later and this Hitch SilencerCover still looks and works like new. Its been on the back of the SUV this entire time, through rain, mud, snow. Cover never pops loose on its own the magnets keep it tightly closed. It keeps the inside of the hitch reciver cleaner, and protects the outer lip from any damagedingsscratches, etc. Great product so far, especially for the money.

by:

Well it served its purpose while I had it. My rig (class A rv) had to be towed and unfortunately at some point the rear end hit the ground and this piece bore the brunt of the contact. My only downside was my heavy blue ox hitch was more difficult to insert. I’ll probably buy another though.

by:

This hitch Silencer came with the hitch itself, but the pin that holds the door onto the assembly was missing. Contacted customer service and received one ASAP. Great great service!

It fits loosely and rattles when not towing. Not a good fit for our hitch.

The magnet fell out and the door would not stay shut. The rattle was not suppressed very well and I purchased a different device and trashed this one.

by:

My trailer hitch still makes a lot of noise when empty so I quit using this product. It's a good idea but doesn't work for me, I will have to try something else.

by:

Was a little disappointed to see that the pin is made out of plastic. Was also disappointed to see that the neodymium magnet could come out of the hole it was in the bottom of the package. After super gluing it back into place works pretty good.

by:

Preformed better than I thought. Magnet keeps it closed when not in use. Just hope no one steals it.

Cover worked great, keeps road dirt and crud out of channel.

by:

As usual, great quality and great customer service and great shipping speed! Great product—two 72 year old women installed it on the front of our motorhome before a trip to Alaska. Wish we’d taken spares with us because we could have SOLD THEM all along the way. LOL.

by:

This did not work well for me. I think it’s because my hitch and receiver are different manufacturers, probably different tolerances in production made for a loose fit to begin with. This silencer wasn’t going to correct that.
I should’ve bought all components from etrailer.com. That way they would probably fit better! Oh well, next time.

by:

This one did not fit my 2” receiver, I gave it to someone else.

by:

Receiver stills rattles. Return postage not worth the cost... Shipping and returning $$

Draw-Tite Hitch Anti-Rattle - Helps to eliminate rattle and vibrations

by:

I gave it 3 stars because it didn't work for my installation. There was not enough clearance between the hitch and the bumper.

by:

I wouldn't put a hitch on a car and not have this. This is the second one I have installed. I replaced my previous car with a newer one and never hesitated to order this along with the hitch. Highly recommend. It does the job and gives the hitch a nice finished look. The car wash will flip it open, but that is the only issue, and let's face it, that's minor.

by:

This doesn't exactly fit the 2" etrailer hitch receiver, as I was told. It's wobbly and the cover pops open when not in use. I'm guessing it works fine on a Draw-Tite hitch.

by:

I would have given it 5 start but for the fact that the retaining pin was made of plastic. Easily solved: I bought a 4" stainless steel 1/4-20 bolt and locking nut for $2. Even so, the entire cost was well under other like items whose quality is probably inferior. It fit my hitch receiver well, although very tight. No problem, in fact, that was a good thing: a little silicone spray on the contacting parts and drove it in with a mallet. No more rattles!

by:

This works great. I didn’t realize how good until I traded in my car and forgot to take it off. I towed trailer with my new vehicle and noticed it was a lot louder than my old one. I figured I would get a new hitch silencer to see if it helped and is way quieter. Definitely worth the money. Easy to use too!

by:

Doesn’t fit, was recommended to use/buy with the hitch I purchased and after contacting etrailer and being told it doesn’t work the hitch I have to pay for the return in order to receive a refund. Terrible business move, feels like a scam for more money.
Email from etrailer for return:
“ Based on the item you want to return from your order, the return cost is greater than the part. Therefore, it would not be cost effective for me to send you our UPS return label. If you would like to still return the item with your own shipping method, please let me know and I can send you a return authorization number separately.”

I have a 2” hitch but it doesn’t fit over the lip on the hitch receiver.

Lets go ahead and get a return processed for you. It is very common that some Curt hitches have a collar that is too thick to allow this to work properly.

by:

the silencer works fine for the hitches I could get it on but the two of my receivers I couldn't get it to slide on. I prefer the one with the U bolt design with nuts that you tighten from below. easier to install and much more effective as well.

This just has a channel to slide over the lip of the receiver tube and a latch that presses against the tube to lock it into place. The opening in this for your accessory to slot through is a hair over 2" wide x 2-1/16" tall so your accessory shouldn't be getting stuck.
